This series of activities was organized in close collaboration with local authorities and Petrovietnam, the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group, in a project to rebuild the residential area of Kho Vang village, Coc Lau commune, Bac Ha district, Lao Cai province.

SUPPORTING THE COMMUNITY TO OVERCOME POST-STORM AND FLOODING EFFECTS

Storm No. 3 and its aftermath caused significant losses of life and property in 26 northern provinces. Especially, mountainous provinces such as Lao Cai and Yen Bai suffered terrifying flash floods and landslides, while the Red River Delta experienced widespread and prolonged flooding, damaging crops and causing great difficulties for many families. Their lives and agricultural production activities were severely affected.

In response to this situation, Ca Mau Fertilizer Company quickly contributed 4 billion VND and coordinated with Petrovietnam to reconstruct the entire residential area of Kho Vang village, one of the most severely affected areas by flash floods and landslides. Many houses here were completely washed away, forcing the residents to temporarily live at the People’s Committee’s office or with their relatives while waiting for resettlement. The Kho Vang village resettlement project includes building a 2.5-hectare resettlement area, located 1.5 km from the old residence, to meet the daily needs of about 40 households.

Notably, the new residential area was designed and constructed to respect the cultural characteristics and customs of the Tay and Mong ethnic groups, the two main ethnicities in Kho Vang village. This ensures harmony and convenience for the locals in their daily lives. This activity is not only a timely relief effort but also a long-term investment, laying a foundation for a stable and sustainable life for the flood-prone community.

In parallel with the reconstruction of Kho Vang village, the Ca Mau Fertilizer Company delegation visited and encouraged the affected people in the northern provinces. With a spirit of “mutual affection” and the kindness of the oil and gas industry, the company’s officers, employees, and workers donated and presented 1 billion VND to Ninh Binh province, one of the localities affected by Storm Yagi.

A company representative shared: “Ca Mau Fertilizer Company not only focuses on providing quality products to farmers but also pioneers in social responsibility activities. After the severe consequences of the recent storm and floods, Ca Mau Fertilizer Company has implemented a series of supportive activities for the northern provinces, with a total contribution value of 8.2 billion VND. We understand that quick and timely support is extremely important to help the community overcome immediate difficulties. However, the goal of Ca Mau Fertilizer Company is not just short-term relief but also to create activities that enable farmers to rebuild their agricultural production and stabilize their lives.”

TECHNIQUE TRANSFER – OVERCOMING DIFFICULTIES TOGETHER

As a leading fertilizer production and business enterprise, Ca Mau Fertilizer Company has assessed the damage and implemented plans to support agricultural production after the storms and floods. To help the community recover quickly, the company launched this support activity in October. It includes donating essential goods and helping to build eight special houses of love. The company will also distribute nearly 300 tons of fertilizer and organize technical consulting programs on cultivation techniques for hundreds of thousands of farmers in 12 provinces in the Red River Delta, with a total program value of up to 3.2 billion VND.

The training sessions on cultivation techniques are organized by experts from Ca Mau Fertilizer Company in coordination with local authorities. Each farming household will receive two bags of Ca Mau NPK fertilizer and participate in detailed instructions on how to use fertilizers effectively. These consulting sessions are opportunities for farmers to enhance their knowledge and apply advanced and modern cultivation methods to improve cultivation efficiency, increase crop yields, and contribute to ensuring food security for the entire region. Ca Mau Fertilizer Company focuses on building a more sustainable development foundation to help them overcome difficulties quickly and improve economic efficiency in the future.
