On the same day, the State Bank’s Ho Chi Minh City Branch announced that it had sent a document to the city’s departments, sectors, and districts, requesting coordination in disseminating information about legal regulations on gold jewelry and handicraft production conditions.
The State Bank’s Ho Chi Minh City Branch sent the document to various departments, including the City Party Committee’s Mass Mobilization Commission, the Department of Information and Communications, the Market Management Department, the Tax Department, the City Police, the People’s Committees of districts and Thu Duc City, and the City’s Goldsmith and Jewelers Association.
According to the State Bank’s Ho Chi Minh City Branch, the number of enterprises registering for certificates of eligibility for gold jewelry and handicraft production has increased recently, following enhanced inspection and supervision by relevant agencies.
Gold jewelry and handicraft production is a conditional business activity, and enterprises in this field must meet conditions related to location, infrastructure, and necessary equipment. Enterprises must also comply with other relevant regulations, such as labeling, product quality, invoices, taxes, product origins, security, fire protection, and environmental protection.
Businesses must fulfill legal requirements, such as obtaining a business registration certificate and registering for gold jewelry and handicraft production. According to current regulations, the granting of certificates of eligibility for gold jewelry and handicraft production is an administrative procedure delegated by the State Bank to its provincial and municipal branches.
These procedures are publicly announced to guide enterprises. Enterprises that meet the conditions and comply with legal regulations will be considered for certification. Individuals and businesses interested in obtaining the Certificate of Eligibility for Gold Jewelry and Handicraft Production under the law are requested to contact the State Bank’s Ho Chi Minh City Branch directly for guidance.
The State Bank’s Ho Chi Minh City Branch representative advised, “Individuals and businesses should avoid intermediaries or services that may incur unnecessary costs and impact the quality of public services. We request coordination in disseminating information about the procedures for granting certificates to eligible gold jewelry and handicraft production enterprises, especially with the recent fluctuations in world gold prices, which have had a certain impact on the domestic market.”
