Abundant Job Opportunities with Diverse Salary Ranges

Ms. Đặng Hồng Liên, Head of Human Resources at PouYuen Vietnam Co. Ltd. in Ho Chi Minh City, shares that after facing challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic and having to terminate contracts with some workers, the company is now back on its feet with new orders thanks to the economic recovery.

PouYuen Vietnam is currently looking to hire 2,000 workers and has only managed to fill half of that goal so far. The company is offering a referral program where current employees and locals can refer potential candidates.

Viettel Hanoi Branch, a subsidiary of the Vietnam Military Telecommunications & Industry Group, is also recruiting for more than 200 positions across four roles: sales, customer service, telesales, and telecom bill collection. Salaries vary depending on the position, ranging from 7 million to 18 million VND per month.

Hanoi Railway One-Member Co. Ltd. is seeking to fill over 300 positions, including managers, deputy managers, team leaders, and staff. The salary for these roles starts at 7 million VND and can go up to 13 million VND, plus bonuses and other benefits.

To meet their production and business needs, these companies have had to diversify their recruitment channels, including participating in job fairs.

Job Fairs and Diverse Job Opportunities

In Hanoi, recent job fairs have seen an average of 3,000 vacancies offered by companies across various industries and fields.

Mr. Vũ Quang Thành, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Center for Employment Services, observes that there are abundant job opportunities with attractive positions available for people of different educational backgrounds, ranging from those with a certificate of skill, vocational diploma, associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree, and even higher education.

Most of the positions offer salaries between 7 million and 15 million VND, but some roles in the higher education segment can earn up to 20 million VND. There are also positions that pay less than 7 million VND, suitable for part-time workers. Thus, there is a diverse range of job opportunities for job seekers, including students and those with specific needs.

According to Mr. Thành, from now until the end of the year, especially in the fourth quarter, many companies will be working to complete their annual plans and handle additional orders. This has already led to an increase in hiring demand since August and September.

Challenges in Recruitment

However, recruitment is not without its challenges, especially at this point. Some workers have already found stable jobs, and job-hopping or seeking new opportunities only happens under unavoidable circumstances, such as when a company faces difficulties or when an employee feels they no longer fit the work environment.

“According to the labor market’s dynamics, when one business stops operating, the workforce will circulate and apply to other companies,” said Mr. Thành.

Sectors with High Recruitment Demand

The Hanoi Center for Employment Services predicts that towards the end of 2024, the sectors with the highest recruitment demand will be services and trade, including supermarkets, restaurants, shopping centers, and delivery companies. Additionally, the manufacturing, IT, and other sectors are also expected to have high recruitment needs.

“Based on the needs of the businesses, we will coordinate with relevant units to organize specialized and mobile job fairs to meet the labor demands of companies in Hanoi,” said Mr. Vũ Quang Thành, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Center for Employment Services.

In Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Phạm Văn Cẩn, Deputy Director of the Center for Human Resources Demand Forecast and Labor Market Information, shared that the city’s workforce in 2024 is estimated to be over 5.1 million, a 5.61% increase compared to 2023.

From January to September 2024, the Center surveyed over 52,000 businesses, resulting in more than 230,000 job openings. The demand for human resources is mainly in the trade-service sector (70.12%) and the industry-construction sector (29.48%), with the remaining in agriculture, forestry, and fisheries.

Some economic sectors with high recruitment demand since the beginning of the year include:

– Manufacturing industry
– Wholesale and retail
– Automotive and other vehicle repair
– Professional, scientific, and technical activities
– Real estate business
– Finance, banking, and insurance
– Information and communication

Based on the supply and demand survey for the past nine months, the Center forecasts a need for over 83,000 workers in Ho Chi Minh City in the fourth quarter of 2024.

The demand for human resources in the last months of 2024 will continue to focus on key industrial sectors and primary service sectors.

To find suitable jobs, job seekers are advised to proactively equip themselves with professional knowledge, vocational skills, and soft skills related to their desired positions. Additionally, developing work ethics and a professional attitude is essential.

To meet the challenges of integration and the 4.0 industrial revolution, workers also need to improve their foreign language and information technology skills and stay updated with new technologies. When looking for jobs, it is crucial to choose reputable companies to avoid falling victim to scams.
