Quang Ninh to Host 200 European Billionaires

According to the Quang Ninh provincial portal, in early 2025, Ha Long City will be the venue for the “Art for Climate – Ha Long Bay 2025” festival, featuring the participation of over 200 European billionaires. The billionaires will arrive in Ha Long on mega yachts.

As shared by the Quang Ninh Tourism Promotion Center, the event is expected to attract approximately 80,000 attendees, including policymakers, local administrators, artists, environmental activists, investors, and students.

Slated for January 13-19, 2025, the “Art for Climate – Ha Long Bay 2025” festival has garnered significant international attention. This is a special decision, as Ha Long Bay was chosen as the venue instead of a Middle Eastern country as initially planned.

Arsuprema, the event organizer from France, selected Ha Long Bay not only for its natural beauty but also to convey a message about heritage conservation and environmental protection.

Ha Long Bay receives approximately 4,000 to 6,000 visitors daily, 90% of whom are international guests. Despite the impact of Storm No. 3, most activities in the bay have resumed normal operations.

In the first nine months of 2024, Ha Long City welcomed 9.2 million visitors (a 33% increase compared to the same period in 2023). International visitors reached 2.13 million (more than double the number in the previous year). Total tourism revenue is estimated at VND 20,300 billion (up 34% from 2023).

In the first nine months of 2024, 1,342 new enterprises were established, a 7.6% increase compared to the same period in 2023.

The province created additional jobs for 23,500 laborers, an increase of 1,800 compared to the same period last year, achieving 78.3% of the annual plan. Total social security expenditure is estimated at VND 1,435 billion, a 38.4% increase year-on-year.

For the whole of 2024, Quang Ninh aims to maintain double-digit GRDP growth, with state budget revenue not less than VND 55,600 billion. The province targets to attract USD 3 billion in FDI and receive over 19 million tourists this year.

At the conference, the province outlined several tasks to achieve these goals, including the urgent and comprehensive implementation of solutions to support the people and businesses in recovering from the impact of Storm No. 3.
