According to recent news from the Quang Ninh Province’s Official Portal, in January 2025, Ha Long City will host the “Art for Climate Halong Bay 2025” festival. The event is expected to attract over 80,000 participants, including more than 200 billionaires from Europe, who will arrive in Ha Long on their private yachts.

The “Art for Climate Halong Bay 2025” festival is considered an international-scale event. It is scheduled to take place from January 13 to 19, 2025.

Initially, this event was supposed to be held in a Middle Eastern country. However, Arsuprema, the French organizer of “Art for Climate,” chose Ha Long Bay as the new venue. Selecting Ha Long Bay as the host not only celebrates artistic values but also raises awareness about heritage conservation and unites efforts to combat climate change and protect the environment.

The organizers stated that Ha Long Bay was chosen as the venue for the Art for Climate festival due to its unique climate, location, and high symbolic value. Additionally, Ha Long Bay boasts not just breathtaking natural scenery but also an ecosystem that is under threat from climate change and human pressure.

The organizers plan to coordinate with local authorities to anchor the billionaires’ yachts at the beautiful sandy beaches nestled at the foot of the mountains between Ha Long Bay and Bai Tu Long Bay.

Earlier, on September 16, the festival’s announcement ceremony was held at the French Embassy. The event was graced by the presence of Ha Kim Ngoc, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the National UNESCO Committee of Vietnam, along with ambassadors, heads of international organizations in Vietnam, and representatives from various businesses.

According to the organizers, the “Art for Climate Halong Bay 2025” festival will feature a plethora of vibrant and unique activities. These include a music festival with the participation of numerous world-renowned stars and artists, as well as seminars and educational workshops on climate change response organized by NGOs and government agencies from major countries.
