On October 22nd, Nhan Dan Newspaper, in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, launched the National Brand special page (accessible at http://thuonghieuquocgia.nhandan.vn). This marks a significant step forward as, for the first time, Vietnam will have a dedicated page offering a comprehensive and official dataset, presented in a modern and visually appealing manner, about the country’s leading product and corporate brands.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Le Quoc Minh, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, highlighted the global recognition that several Vietnamese brands have already attained. For instance, Viettel ranked 234th in the “Global 500” list of the world’s most valuable brands in 2023, while Vinamilk secured 6th place in the top 10 global dairy brands.

However, brand development and protection remain areas of weakness for domestic businesses. The 2023 Anholt-Ipsos Nation Brands Index ranked Vietnam 47th, indicating that the country has yet to establish a strong brand presence in any particular field.

Despite being a leading exporter of agricultural produce, Vietnam’s branded presence in this sector is modest on the global stage. Some businesses have focused solely on domestic market registration, resulting in trademark hijacking in foreign markets, which has caused significant setbacks in their export expansion efforts.

With the shared goal of establishing, protecting, and developing reputable national brands and trademarks, Nhan Dan Newspaper and the Ministry of Industry and Trade have joined forces to create this special page.

The page features four main sections: Brands, Enterprises, News, and Multimedia. Visitors can conveniently search for and learn about product and corporate brands across various industries and sectors, including those that have attained the National Brand status in specific years. Additionally, the page offers special photo and video content showcasing the production processes and stories behind these nationally recognized products.

The page also includes content and special topics aimed at safeguarding Vietnamese brands and projecting an image of Vietnam as a nation renowned for its high-quality goods and services.

One of the key highlights of the National Brand page is the dedicated page for each enterprise with a nationally recognized product. These pages are designed with a modern aesthetic and highly interactive features.

Each enterprise’s dedicated page comprises the following sections: Enterprise Information, featuring the logo and detailed information about the enterprise and its products; News, aggregating related articles published by Nhan Dan Newspaper and other reputable media outlets; Press Releases, where enterprises can publish official press releases about their products and activities; and Multimedia, hosting a collection of photos, infographics, and videos pertaining to the enterprise and its products.

Following the launch of the Vietnamese version, Nhan Dan Newspaper and the Ministry of Industry and Trade plan to develop an English version of the page to reach a global audience.

At the inauguration event, Mr. Nguyen Hong Dien, Minister of Industry and Trade and Chairman of the Vietnam National Brand Council, emphasized the significance of the National Brand Program as a long-term and unique trade promotion program approved and directed by the Prime Minister since 2003. As the program’s permanent agency, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has been actively collaborating with various ministries, sectors, localities, socio-political organizations, industry associations, and international partners to effectively implement its key components. Among these, the promotion of the program and the branding of Vietnamese products have been accorded high priority.

Minister Nguyen Hong Dien regarded the launch of the National Brand page as a milestone, signifying the establishment of an official channel to disseminate information about the program’s overall activities and the remarkable endeavors of enterprises with nationally recognized products.

By showcasing these enterprises and their products, the page aims to raise societal awareness about the significance of building, protecting, and developing strong brands. Simultaneously, it endeavors to foster a positive perception of Vietnam as a country renowned for its high-quality goods and services, both domestically and internationally.
