Vietnam Beverage Company (Sabeco) has announced a transaction involving the purchase of shares by insiders and related parties.
According to the announcement, Sabeco plans to acquire over 2 million shares of Saigon Beer – Western (WSB), equivalent to a 13.91% stake. The purpose of this transaction is to increase Sabeco’s ownership in WSB. If the transaction is successful, Sabeco’s ownership in Saigon Beer – Western will increase from 70.55% (over 10.2 million shares) to 84.46% (over 12.2 million shares).
Sabeco expects to execute the transaction between October 28, 2024, and November 25, 2024, through a negotiated agreement.

Prior to this, on October 22, 2024, the first extraordinary general meeting of Saigon Beer – Western in 2024 unanimously approved the proposal to exempt Sabeco from the mandatory public offering of WSB shares.
Additionally, the meeting agreed to allow Sabeco to receive share transfers from seven individual organizations. Specifically, AFC Fund will transfer more than 1.28 million shares, equivalent to 8.84% of the capital, to Sabeco, while Mr. Robert Alexander Stone will transfer 237,600 shares (1.64%), Ms. Pham Thu Ngan will transfer 217,000 shares (1.5%), Mr. Huynh Van Dung will transfer 175,100 shares (1.21%), Mr. Do Van Ve will transfer 75,000 shares (0.52%), Ms. Lai Thi Thu Hien will transfer 21,000 shares (0.14%), and Ms. Le Thi Chi will transfer 10,000 shares (0.07%).
Saigon Beer – Western is a joint-stock company established through the merger of Saigon Beer – Can Tho and Saigon Beer – Soc Trang. The company is headquartered in Tra Noc Industrial Park, Tra Noc Ward, Binh Thuy District, Can Tho City.
On August 10, 2010, WSB shares of Saigon Beer – Western were officially traded on the UPCoM market of the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX).
As of the end of the third quarter of 2024, Saigon Beer – Western’s charter capital stood at VND 145 billion, with Sabeco being the largest shareholder, holding 70.55% of the company’s capital, while other shareholders collectively owned the remaining 29.45%.
