On this occasion, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh respectfully conveyed the invitations of General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong, and Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man to the Pakistani leaders to visit Vietnam. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh respectfully invited Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to visit Vietnam soon.

Highly valuing the role and position of the South Asian country, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that Vietnam attaches great importance to its friendly and cooperative relations with Pakistan. He expressed the desire to deepen and substantiate the bilateral relationship, especially in the fields of trade, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.

The Prime Minister sincerely shared his concern about the current limitations in economic and trade cooperation, which are not commensurate with the良好 political relations between the two countries.

With a combined population and market of 300 million people, there is much potential for expanded trade cooperation between the two sides. Prime Minister Chinh emphasized the need for both countries to further open their markets to each other and work with determination to elevate their relationship and multifaceted collaboration.

He proposed that the two sides strengthen the organization of business, investment, and tourism forums to promote understanding and mutual information, thereby creating a foundation for deeper and more substantive engagement.

For his part, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his condolences on the passing of the former General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. The Pakistani Prime Minister admired Vietnam as a shining example in the former national liberation movement and in the current nation-building and development.

Fully agreeing with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s view on the need to value and maximize the use of time, knowledge, and new thinking and vision of the leaders of the two countries, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif proposed setting an ambitious target of reaching $10 billion in bilateral trade between Vietnam and Pakistan in the coming time. He also expressed his hope to welcome Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Vietnamese leaders to Pakistan soon.

On this occasion, the two Prime Ministers also shared their views and exchanged ideas on measures to strengthen cooperation between Vietnam and Pakistan in international and multilateral forums, practically serving the interests of the two countries’ people and actively contributing to peace, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.
