The devastating impact of Storm No. 3 (also known as Yagi) in mid-September is unforgettable, especially for those in the affected areas of Vietnam. Heavy rains and widespread flooding ravaged northern Vietnam, particularly rural areas.

The destruction caused by Storm Yagi had far-reaching consequences, including damage to homes and infrastructure, as well as severe water contamination from floodwaters carrying mud and waste, posing a significant threat to public health. As a result, providing clean water to the flooded regions became a top priority.

Mtech’s project, “Emergency Water Treatment Solutions from MTech,” successfully delivered clean water to areas severely affected by Storm Yagi in northern Vietnam, specifically at the Nui Man Primary and Secondary School in Hoanh Bo, Quang Ninh. This initiative improved the situation and safeguarded the health of the community.

The project aimed to support the Vietnamese people by providing quick and safe access to clean water, especially in times of natural disasters. Mtech’s long-term vision is to become a leading provider of emergency clean water solutions in Asia, ensuring that everyone has access to clean water during their most challenging times.

The project activities included field surveys, installation of the LW-300D water purification system, and operational monitoring to ensure that the water met safety standards. Mtech utilized the advanced LW-300D water purification system, capable of desalination and effectively removing contaminants.

Notably, this treatment system could rapidly provide clean water from contaminated sources, addressing the urgent need for clean water in areas affected by Storm Yagi. This innovative initiative proved to be a fresh and effective solution in the face of natural disasters, ensuring the community’s health and safety.

During the implementation period, clean water was quickly restored to hundreds of people, reducing the risk of waterborne diseases and contributing to the community’s health and improved living conditions. The LW300D water purification system filtered 12,120 liters of river and lake water daily, with an impressive capacity of treating 400 liters of clean water in just one hour.

Geographically scalable, MTech’s emergency water treatment model can bring clean water to other countries in the region facing similar situations. Mtech’s mobile water treatment equipment can be adjusted to suit different types of contaminated water sources, making the model easily replicable and applicable by organizations and governments during natural disasters.
