On the free market, USD price rebounded strongly, increasing by up to VND 180 in both directions from the previous session.
This morning, foreign currency exchange points on the free market traded USD at the average rate of 25,745-25,845 VND/USD (buy-sell), an increase of 145 VND on both sides compared to the previous session.
The State Bank of Vietnam announced the mid-point exchange rate between the Vietnamese Dong and USD today (Nov 7) at 24,283 VND/USD, an increase of 25 VND from yesterday’s listing.
With a 5% margin, commercial banks are allowed to trade within a range of 25,497 (ceiling) to 23,069 (floor) VND/USD today.

Meanwhile, the reference USD buying and selling rates remain within the range of 23,400-25,450 VND/USD, as maintained by the State Bank of Vietnam’s Trading Center.
Today, commercial banks have adjusted the USD selling price upward, while the buying price has witnessed mixed movements.
In terms of selling, the USD selling price at commercial banks has increased by 27 VND from yesterday’s listing, reaching the ceiling of 25,497 VND/USD.
Regarding the buying price, many banks have adjusted it upward, but some have slightly decreased it, while others have kept it unchanged.
This morning, Vietcombank listed the USD buying price for cash at 25,167 VND/USD, an increase of 27 VND from yesterday’s (Nov 6) trading session.
Similarly, compared to yesterday’s opening hours, BIDV also raised the USD buying price by 27 VND, reaching 25,197 VND/USD. VietinBank, on the other hand, increased its USD buying price to 25,221 VND/USD, a rise of 3 VND.
In the private banking sector, the USD buying price has shown mixed movements.
Techcombank lowered its USD buying price by 2 VND from yesterday’s opening, now standing at 25,205 VND/USD.
Conversely, Sacombank increased its USD buying rate to 25,210 VND/USD, a rise of 40 VND.Â
ACB and Eximbank maintained their USD buying prices from yesterday. ACB listed the USD buying price for cash at 25,180 VND/USD, while Eximbank kept it unchanged at 25,170 VND/USD.
The USD price in the international market has stabilized after reaching a four-month high yesterday. The greenback surged following the announcement of the US presidential election results.
As of 12:04 pm on Nov 7 (Vietnam time), the US Dollar Index (DXY), which measures the value of the US dollar relative to a basket of six foreign currencies, stood at 104.97 points, down 0.11% from the previous session.
