Da Nang Train Station is located on Hai Phong Street in Thanh Khe District. It is a major and important railway station on the North-South railway line. The station currently consists of three functional areas: freight, passenger, and technical operations.

The relocation of Da Nang Train Station away from the city center will help reduce traffic congestion and create urban redevelopment opportunities, connecting important routes for socio-economic development.

The new train station in Da Nang is planned to be constructed near Ho Trung Nghia in Hoa Minh Ward. It will be located at the intersection of three routes: Hoang Thi Loan, Nam Tran, and Nguyen Tuong Pho streets, in Lien Chieu District.

The current railway alignment in Da Nang city will remain unchanged.

The spur line from Thanh Khe loop to Thanh Khe station and then to Da Nang station will be converted into an urban railway.

The Kim Lien station area, located on Nguyen Van Cu Street in Hoa Hiep Nam Ward, Lien Chieu District, will be a freight station with auxiliary facilities and railway offices. It is expected to handle around 500,000 tons of cargo per year.

According to the pre-feasibility study report, the project will be implemented in two phases. Phase 1 involves the construction of a new station with an area of approximately 3,000 square meters and 10 floors to serve passengers.

The total investment for phase 1 of the Da Nang Train Station relocation project is estimated at VND 2,290 billion, including VND 780 billion for site clearance, VND 1,190 billion for construction and equipment. The project is scheduled to be implemented from 2024 to 2030.

In phase 2, the city will relocate the railway line and station in Da Nang according to the master plan and construct a new passenger station in Hoa Son commune, Hoa Vang district. The station will serve both the national railway and the high-speed railway on the North-South axis. The estimated investment for phase 2 is over VND 3,810 billion, funded by the state budget.

The People’s Committee of Da Nang City proposes to implement phase 1 of the Da Nang Train Station relocation project from 2024 to 2030, with the construction phase starting in the third quarter of 2026 and completing in 2030. The new passenger train station is expected to be operational until 2050.
