The Ultimate SUV: Ford Everest Reigns Supreme in the D-Segment, Leaving Santa Fe and Fortuner Behind.

According to data from the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (VAMA) for October 2024, the Ford Everest sold 1,281 units, a 35.1% increase compared to September, entering the top 10 best-selling cars in the market. This pushed its cumulative sales for the year to 8,434 units, solidifying its leadership in the segment.

Compared to its two toughest rivals in the segment, the Ford Everest is creating a significant gap. With cumulative sales of 4,906 units, the Hyundai Santa Fe currently ranks second, but is still almost doubled by the Everest. Meanwhile, the Toyota Fortuner, once a direct competitor to the Everest, has only sold a modest 2,666 units, not even a third of the Ford SUV’s figure.

Other models in the segment, such as the Mazda CX-8 (2,105 units), Mitsubishi Pajero Sport (573 units), and Isuzu MU-X (173 units), hardly pose a threat to the Everest in terms of sales. With this gap, the Ford Everest is almost certain to retain its “crown” in the midsize SUV segment as 2024 comes to a close.

According to Mr. Binh, a sales consultant at a Ford dealership in Hanoi, the Ford Everest Ambiente version is currently receiving the biggest discount of up to nearly VND 110 million. This is a 100% registration fee support policy from Ford Vietnam. In addition to the official discount, dealers can also offer additional price reductions and valuable accessory packages such as window tinting, floor mats, dashcams, and maintenance cards. The remaining versions are being discounted by the dealer from VND 22-30 million, depending on the version.’’
