The Doc Da Trang Industrial Park project, covering an area of 288 hectares in Van Hung commune, Van Ninh district, and Ninh Tho commune, Ninh Hoa town, Khanh Hoa province, is a venture of Viglacera Yen My Industrial Park Development JSC. With a total investment of over VND 1,807 billion, the project has received investment registration certificate from the Management Board of Van Phong Economic Zone and the investment policy approval from the Prime Minister. Strategically located near National Highway 1A and the under-construction North-South Expressway, the industrial park aims to attract investment in supporting industries, high-tech industries, and logistics. Secondary projects must be environmentally friendly and make significant contributions to the state budget. Priority is given to mechanical engineering, metalworking, and the manufacturing of electrical and electronic equipment, including industrial electronics, telecommunications equipment, office appliances, computers, mobile phones, and electronic components. The industrial park is expected to generate employment opportunities for 26,000 workers.

The Khanh Hoa People’s Committee has proposed initiating construction before April 2025, which is 2.5 months earlier than initially planned, to commemorate significant provincial anniversaries. A task force has been established to support related departments and local authorities. By December 2024, relevant units must review forestry and irrigation planning. Meanwhile, the People’s Committees of Van Ninh district and Ninh Hoa town are expediting the approval of land compensation rates and conducting surveys to determine the number of affected households. Approximately six households in Ninh Tho commune, Ninh Hoa town, will be relocated to well-established resettlement areas about 1.6 km from the project site. More than 50 households in Van Ninh district will be resettled about 500 meters from the project site.

According to Mr. Le Hong Phuong, Vice Chairman of the Management Board of Van Phong Economic Zone, “The groundbreaking ceremony must take place before April 2, 2025. The People’s Committees of Ninh Hoa town and Van Ninh district have approved the pricing scheme. This industrial park will be a crucial driver for economic and social development, especially in Van Ninh and Ninh Hoa areas. It will create jobs, provide career alternatives for locals, and stabilize their livelihoods. The park is geared towards mechanical engineering, factories for clean energy and electronics, excluding seafood processing industries.”
