The project commenced in 2020 and was expected to be completed within 450 days. However, nearly four years have passed since then, and the project remains unfinished.

Vu Quynh extended road passes through three wards: Phu Do, My Dinh 1, and My Dinh 2. It is a vital link to major routes such as Me Tri Street and the route from Me Tri to Do Duc Duc in Nam Tu Liem District. Upon completion, the road will facilitate residents’ travel from My Dinh – Me Tri urban area to My Dinh Stadium, My Dinh Aquatics Sports Palace, and other destinations.

According to VTV News reporters, after four years of construction, some sections of the Vu Quynh road have been partially completed and opened to traffic, while other sections remain uncompleted and are enclosed by makeshift barriers, with construction waste and debris scattered around.

The unfinished construction site is temporarily fenced off, and residents utilize the empty space for sports activities.

Concrete pipes are scattered on the road surface, and the road is also used by residents for parking.

A large amount of construction material left on the road can cause obstructions and pose a safety hazard for traffic.

Additionally, there are unauthorized dumpsites created by residents, which negatively impact the hygiene and aesthetics of the urban area.

Some sections of the road remain disconnected due to challenges with land clearance.

It is known that the project for the construction of the Vu Quynh road to the Le Duc Tho – Pham Hung connecting road (Vu Quynh extended road) has requested an extension once until December 31, 2023, but could not be completed; then continued to request a second extension until the end of 2025.
