Bonus of 2-3 Months’ Salary
At this time, workers at Dony Garment Company (Ho Chi Minh City) are working overtime until late at night to meet delivery deadlines. The workers’ income ranges from 15 to 18 million VND per month. According to Mr. Pham Quang Anh, Director of Dony Company, the company has orders until the end of the first quarter of 2025. This year, with good business performance, the company is profitable and is expected to achieve its goal of 1.5 times that of the previous year. “We have planned for the Lunar New Year bonus since the beginning of 2024. As every year, workers will receive a one-month salary bonus. Those who perform well can receive up to 2-3 months’ salary during this Lunar New Year. Workers will also have a two-week holiday to return home and reunite with their families,” said Mr. Anh.

Leaders of Mobile World Investment Corporation informed that the average Lunar New Year bonus for 2025 is 28 million VND per person, 2.5 times higher than in 2024. The company representative said that the bonus increase is due to positive business results this year, along with encouraging the spirit and taking better care of employees’ lives. The company currently has more than 60,000 employees, and the total bonus amount is nearly 1,700 billion VND.
Dong Phu Cuong Joint Stock Company (Dong Nai), specializing in garments, has also just announced the Lunar New Year bonus plan for 2025 with an average of more than 12 million VND per person, 4 million VND higher than last year. The company also implements a bonus policy of 300,000 VND per person for officials and workers who are present on time for work on the opening day of the new year after the Lunar New Year.
Bac Giang and Bac Ninh have no bonus information yet
In 2024, Bac Giang had 311 enterprises giving bonuses to more than 178,000 workers, with an average of over 6.6 million VND per person, up 17.46% compared to 2023. The highest bonus was over 146 million VND per person, belonging to a foreign-invested enterprise, and the lowest bonus was 100,000 VND per person. In Bac Ninh, 549 enterprises gave bonuses to their employees. The average bonus in the enterprises that reported was more than 6.7 million VND per person, with the highest bonus in the FDI block at 390 million VND (10 million VND higher than in 2023).
According to the Departments of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs of Bac Giang and Bac Ninh provinces, up to now, there is no information about the Lunar New Year bonus in these provinces. It is expected that in December, enterprises will report their Lunar New Year bonus plans.

(Binh Duong), specializing in manufacturing and trading rope systems and accessories, said that although 2024 was a challenging year, the company decided to give a Lunar New Year bonus to its employees of two months’ basic salary. The 13th-month salary will be divided into monthly salaries, and the 14th-month salary will be paid at once. In addition, the company also gives gifts to workers with difficult circumstances. This company currently has nearly 1,000 employees. Besides the basic salary of 5.2 million VND per month, workers also enjoy other benefits, including 500,000 VND per month for diligence, 500,000 VND per month per person for housing support, 500,000 VND per month per person for work style, 300,000 to 500,000 VND per month per person for productivity incentives, and other allowances…
Yazaki EDS Vietnam Co., Ltd., specializing in automobile wire harnesses, currently has about 7,000 employees. According to Ms. Pham Thi Tuyet Nhung, Chairman of the Company Trade Union, every year, the Board of Directors coordinates with the Trade Union to organize activities to honor long-serving employees. Accordingly, workers who have worked for 10 years will receive a bonus of 2 million VND; 15 years with a bonus of 3.6 million VND; and 20 years with a bonus of 8 million VND. Nearly 1,000 workers in the company will receive this bonus.

The company’s trade union also organizes many caring activities. During the Lunar New Year, my family only needs to buy a few more things to have a complete celebration.”
In addition to the Lunar New Year bonus, many enterprises also proactively arrange schedules so that workers can have long holidays, especially those who live far away and want to visit their families. For example, Nidec Vietnam Co., Ltd. gives workers a 10-day Lunar New Year holiday; TMDV-SX Bao Huy Company gives workers a 20-day Lunar New Year holiday and organizes a “zero-dong trip” to take workers home for free. No Lunar New Year Bonus for the Real Estate Sector
Regarding the Lunar New Year bonus, many real estate businesses in Ho Chi Minh City affirmed that the situation is challenging, and employees and workers will definitely not have a 13th-month salary, let alone a bonus.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hau, General Director of Asian Holding Real Estate Joint Stock Company, said that this year is the first year that the company does not have a Lunar New Year bonus. The company only has gifts and supports bus tickets for employees who live far away to return home for the Lunar New Year.
A leader of a real estate company in Ho Chi Minh City shared with the journalist: “For the past three years, the real estate market has been in a downward trend. The company has not achieved its business targets, and employees have had their regimes cut and been laid off… Currently, the company still has work to do, and employees are lucky to receive their salaries on time. There will definitely be no Lunar New Year bonus.”
Some real estate brokers said that in previous years, when the real estate market was “hot,” depending on the business results, employees of real estate companies could receive Lunar New Year bonuses ranging from 50 to 100 million VND. With the market almost frozen this year, many people do not dare to think about bonuses.
“Like last year, there will definitely be no Lunar New Year bonus this year. I just hope the company can get through this difficult period,” said Mr. Hoai, an employee of a real estate company in Ho Chi Minh City.

According to Mr. Huynh Van Tuan, Head of the Propaganda Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation, this year, Ho Chi Minh City has many Lunar New Year care programs such as “Ticket of Love” to give bus, train, and plane tickets to workers and employees who are union members with difficult circumstances and excellent achievements; the program “Workers’ Day – Fair of Love” to give shopping vouchers to workers to buy things for the Lunar New Year; giving gifts and holding meetings for union members with difficult circumstances.
Ms. Nguyen Hoang Bao Tran, Vice Chairman of the Binh Duong Province Labor Federation, said that the provincial Labor Federation would allocate funds to support 1,000 train tickets, and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor would support 450 train tickets for workers with difficult circumstances to return home. In addition to train tickets, the trade union will allocate 80 plane tickets for workers to return home. Trade unions at all levels will mobilize support from enterprises to organize “Spring Trip” to take workers home and take care of workers who stay in the city during the Lunar New Year.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhu Y, Chairman of the Dong Nai Province Labor Federation, the provincial trade unions at all levels plan to give 82,000 Lunar New Year gifts.
