All 17 trains of Ho Chi Minh City’s Metro Line 1 have received the Certificate of Quality, Technical Safety, and Environmental Protection for Railway Transport Vehicles. As of November 22, all 17 trains have also been inspected and certified, with inspection stickers affixed.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Management Authority, with the completion of the inspection and certification of the Metro Line 1 trains, an important milestone has been achieved, ensuring that the city’s first urban railway line meets all quality standards and moves closer to its goal of commercial operation.

The Ho Chi Minh City Metro Line 1 project has completed 100% of the construction work and is currently in the process of finalizing the necessary procedures for completion. The project is expected to commence commercial operations on December 22.
At present, the Urban Railway Management Authority and the Urban Railway One-Member Co. Ltd. (the operator) are coordinating to prepare for operation and exploitation, including personnel training, acceptance, handover, test operation, and implementation of efficient exploitation plans.

Previously, on November 21, the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City issued a decision on ticket prices for public passenger transport services on Metro Line 1.
Accordingly, passengers paying by cash will be charged between VND 7,000 and VND 20,000 per trip, depending on the distance traveled. If using cashless payment, the fare is reduced by VND 1,000, ranging from VND 6,000 to VND 19,000 per trip. A day pass costs VND 40,000 per person (unlimited trips within a day), while a 3-day pass is priced at VND 90,000 per person (unlimited trips within 3 days).
Regarding monthly passes, passengers can travel unlimitedly within a month for VND 300,000. Students and pupils are offered a 50% discount, paying only VND 150,000 per month.
The announced fares include personal accident insurance for passengers using public passenger transport services by electric train on Metro Line 1.
