According to a recently released statement from the Central Office, on the morning of November 25, the 13th Central Executive Committee met to discuss and provide opinions on several matters.

This decision was made due to their violation of Party regulations and state laws in performing their assigned duties, as well as their breach of regulations on corruption and negative behavior prevention. They were also found to have violated the rules that Party members must comply with and set a good example, which resulted in serious consequences and potential financial losses for the state. Understanding their responsibilities to the Party and the people, both individuals voluntarily stepped down from their positions and retired, accepting the applicable regulations and policies.
Based on the current regulations of the Party and the State, and considering the wishes of Mr. Bui Van Cuong and Mr. Nguyen Van The, the Central Executive Committee agreed to relieve them from their positions as members of the 13th Central Committee.

Prior to this decision, both Mr. Bui Van Cuong and Mr. Nguyen Van The had received a warning disciplinary action from the Politburo.
On October 25, the National Assembly passed a resolution to dismiss Mr. Bui Van Cuong from his position as Secretary-General of the National Assembly, a member of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, and a deputy of the National Assembly.
