“Preserving and enriching traditional cultural values has always been the common goal of Sun Group and its partners when designing architectural works. “With the landscape architecture of Sun Urban City, Phu Ly, especially the festival park axis and the water music show, we choose culture as a bridge to remind us of our roots, so that future owners will always be proud to live and experience a space imbued with cultural values and national pride.” – Sun Group representative shared.
From the very beginning of the journey, Vinh Loc Flower Garden, familiar materials have been present: the ky ha pattern from the Dong Son era, the buffalo’s ridge reminiscent of the Tich Dien Festival, Bat Trang pottery, and six drums symbolizing the six administrative units of Ha Nam. The number six also represents wealth, prosperity, and happiness.
Culture is our root. That’s why no symbol illustrates the “Con Rong Chau Tien” (Dragon and Fairy) legend more vividly than the image of a Dragon. This is the reason why Long Kiều Bridge was chosen as the starting point of the cultural flow, recreating the Song Long (Twin Dragons) on the king’s robe, both majestic and artistically curved, symbolizing the aspiration to reach greater heights.
Long Kiều Bridge is also the starting point of a world-class water music show combined with fireworks, meticulously “designed” by Sun Group to create a sparkling façade for the city.
The boulevard will transform into a “grand” stage for a large-scale water music show with 5,280 spray nozzles, more than 3,100 LED lights, and a maximum water column height of 80m.
This water music show is also equipped with a world-class sound and light system that stretches for 1.6km from Long Kiều Bridge to Long Vũ Square – a fountain square inspired by the graceful dragon dance, delivering explosive “feasts” of sound and light for all the senses.
At the next stop, every step will be filled with excitement and pride as you discover the cultural treasures of the Nui Doi and Song Chau region.
This includes the Vuong Phuc Gallery, which mimics the king’s robe, retelling the story of where the king changed his robe to prepare for the Tich Dien ceremony, and also serves as an exhibition space for the renowned Nha Xa silk of Ha Nam. A “dictionary” of intangible cultural heritage will be preserved here.
Next is the Kim Long Bridge, subtly alluding to the royal canopy and symbolizing abundance and prosperity. The investor meticulously chose the height ratio to optimize the landscape viewing experience while conveying aspirations for a prosperous and happy life in this 1,001-utility urban resort.
Kim Long Bridge leads to the Kim Tien Buffalo sculpture, inspired by the Kim Ngan Dien (Golden Paddy Field) legend. The sculpture is stylized with a modern touch compared to traditional artworks, standing at a height of 4.2m – a number symbolizing balance and “four seasons of happiness.”
Residents and visitors can not only admire but also directly touch the buffalo’s horn, pat its head, or sit behind the golden plow to wish for wealth, luck, and prosperity.
The next stop is the Bell Gate, reminiscent of the story of a golden buffalo chasing the sound of a bronze bell to find its mother in ancient folklore. The Bell Gate rises above a lotus pond, creating a peaceful walking space amid the bustling city life.
The team of architects from the international firm EGO skillfully created “rest areas” along the boulevard with Vietnamese-inspired designs, such as the Ngu Vo Café, which mimics a rustic fishing net; Ca phe Le, which recreates the scene of a banyan tree, a wharf, and a communal house; and Thuong Quan restaurant and café, inspired by Tran Thuong Temple, offering the essence of Vietnamese cuisine.
These stops are not only spaces for checking in, sightseeing, and watching fireworks but also bring vibrant commercial energy to the townhouses along the boulevard. These townhouses offer both a waterside view, overlooking the iconic structures, and a prime location to attract visitors who come to experience the festival axis and the water music show.
The culmination of this “cultural boulevard” is the symbol of Doi Tam drum, famous for its age of over 1,000 years. The drum model stands at a height of 32m with a diameter of 20m, reminding future generations of the story of Trạng Sấm and how the people of Ha Nam made a giant drum to welcome the king, as well as the proud traditional craft. Enveloping the Doi Tam drum are intertwining water columns, continuing the euphoric rhythm of the “water dance,” while the interior houses an impressive artistic experience with scenic views of King Le Canal, Long Vu Square, and Ngự Uyển Garden.
The sound of the festival drums has always been a symbol of patriotism, resonating through important milestones in history. At Sun Urban City, when the symbol of Doi Tam drum and the festival boulevard take shape, it will also be the moment when vibrant and euphoric sounds echo through the land of “Nui Doi, Song Chau.”
Along with other items in the Sun Urban City mega-project, the festival boulevard and water music show are being developed at a rapid pace by Sun Group, with completion expected by April 30, 2025.
