Construction of the T1-T2 road connecting Long Thanh Airport commenced in July 2023, with a total investment of over VND 2,630 billion and an expected completion date of December 2025.

As observed by VTC News reporters, the construction unit has completed the beam installation at the intersection of T1 and National Highway 51. This intersection is a crucial and busy section of the project, so the contractor had to work at night to avoid disrupting traffic.

On the construction site, the contractor is mobilizing workers and machinery to work on the bridge deck and install beams on the remaining sections.

According to the design, T1 road will connect to National Highway 51, stretching approximately 4.28 km and accommodating six lanes of traffic. Meanwhile, T2 road will connect to the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay Expressway, spanning about 3.5 km with four lanes.

To ensure the project stays on schedule, the contractor consortium has mobilized 756 personnel, along with machinery and equipment, to work simultaneously on various construction fronts.

After 16 months of construction, the project has achieved a completion rate of over VND 1,200 billion, equivalent to 53.2% of the contract value. The road section has substantially finished the K95 earth filling, CDM piles, and underground pedestrian tunnels. Other components, such as K98 earth filling, are 60.2% complete, while the stone sub-base construction stands at 38.9%.

Currently, the road surface is being paved with stone sub-base to facilitate the movement of machinery and construction materials. Additionally, the drainage system along the T1 road connecting to Long Thanh Airport is also under construction.

Regarding the bridge section, the project has substantially completed several critical components, including D1500 and D1000 bored piles, piers, abutments, columns, and capitals.

The T2 road, spanning 3.5 km with four lanes, is also progressing rapidly. It starts at the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay Expressway and ends at the intersection with T1 road.

The grand contractor consortium anticipates completing T1 in November 2025, with the intersection of this line and the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau Expressway expected to be finished by August 2025. The construction of the T2 and Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay Expressway intersection is scheduled for completion in October 2025. The entire project is expected to be finalized and handed over for use in December 2025.
