In a recent development, the city has unveiled a list of 17 new bus routes that will connect to the Metro Line 1, which runs from Ben Thanh to Suoi Tien. These new bus routes are as follows:
These bus routes are non-subsidized. However, for a period of 30 days, starting from the day Metro Line 1 commences commercial operations on December 22, 2024, passengers using the metro and connecting bus routes will travel for free. Additionally, the city will provide full fare support for policy beneficiaries, including individuals with revolutionary contributions, disabled people, senior citizens (Vietnamese citizens aged 60 and above), and children under 6 accompanied by an adult.
The city has also announced fare prices for the metro, which include single-journey tickets, day passes, 3-day passes, and monthly passes. Cash-paying passengers will be charged between VND 7,000 and VND 20,000 per trip, depending on the distance traveled. Those opting for cashless payments will enjoy a discounted rate, ranging from VND 6,000 to VND 19,000 per trip.
A day pass is priced at VND 40,000 per person, allowing unlimited rides within a day. Meanwhile, a 3-day pass costs VND 90,000 per person and offers unlimited rides within those three days.
