According to the Department of Planning and Investment of Quang Ngai Province, the province’s investment capital plan for 2024 is over VND 6,902 billion. Of this, more than VND 5,045 billion will come from local budget funds, and over VND 1,857 billion from central budget funds. So far, the province has allocated in detail for eligible tasks and projects for 2024 more than VND 5,698 billion, with the remaining amount of over VND 1,205 billion yet to be allocated.

As of the end of October 2024, the disbursement reached approximately VND 1,940 billion, equivalent to 28.1% of the planned capital. It is estimated that by the end of November 2024, the disbursement will reach about VND 2,497 billion, equivalent to 36.2% of the planned capital.

Quang Ngai is determined to expedite key projects to disburse public investment capital

The province’s disbursement results in the past 10 months are much lower than the national average and lower than the same period in 2023. Notably, key projects and inter-regional coastal transportation projects have very low disbursement rates, with slow progress in site clearance. In addition to subjective and inherent reasons affecting the progress of implementing and disbursing the public investment plan, there are also some difficulties and obstacles in the process of actual construction that slow down the construction progress and capital disbursement. In particular, there are significant challenges related to site clearance.

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giang, Chairman of Quang Ngai People’s Committee, requested that the entire political system must exert efforts, determination, and focus on removing bottlenecks to accelerate the progress of projects, striving to achieve a disbursement rate of 80% or higher by the end of 2024.

Mr. Giang also asked the Management Board of Traffic Infrastructure Construction Projects of Quang Ngai Province (the unit in charge of a large proportion of the province’s public investment capital) to research solutions, review, and calculate implementation plans to ensure the highest disbursement rate, thereby contributing to improving the province’s disbursement rate this year.
