The Dung Quat Economic Zone Traffic Infrastructure Upgrade and Expansion Project has been approved for investment by the Quang Ngai Provincial People’s Council, with a total investment of VND 350 billion from the provincial budget. The project will be carried out from 2024 to 2027, with the Management Board of Dung Quat Economic Zone and Quang Ngai Industrial Zones as the investor.
In the medium-term public investment plan for the 2021-2025 period, Quang Ngai Province has allocated VND 100 billion from land use fees. The remaining capital for the project will be arranged in the province’s medium-term public investment plan for the 2026-2030 period. Thus, the project is guaranteed to have a balanced capital source for completion as regulated.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Tran Phuoc Hien, Vice Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People’s Committee, said that this meaningful project aims to gradually complete the infrastructure of transport routes and technical infrastructure according to the planning, ensuring smooth connectivity within the Dung Quat Economic Zone and surrounding areas. The project’s completion will also meet the timely needs of transporting goods, supplies, and materials, as well as the production and business activities of enterprises in the area.
The Management Board of Dung Quat Economic Zone and Quang Ngai Industrial Zones needs to actively coordinate with related departments, sectors, and localities to review and focus on investing in urgent construction works according to priority order. Quang Ngai Province also emphasizes the importance of site clearance work to ensure the project’s progress is not affected.
