What the Metro Line 1, Ring Roads 3 and 4 Reveal About the City’s Future
These days, if you happen to pass by Nguyen Xien Street, cutting through the Vinhome Grand Park urban area in the old District 9, you will notice a construction site stretching along the road. This is the Belt Road 3 project, being built day and night in the spirit of “2 shifts and 4 teams”. From there, wrapping around to the Kings’ Park, the final stop of the Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien metro line, is undergoing the final touches to complete the entire project. Heading up to Vo Nguyen Giap expressway, the elevated road and rail lines run parallel, and looking up, you see the graceful curves of the flyovers on one side and the leisurely running trains on the other, opening up a new, strange, and civilized space for the city, with an astonishing beauty.
