Proposed Architecture for Tran Hung Dao Bridge

The Hanoi People’s Committee Office has announced the conclusions of Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee, Tran Sy Thanh, regarding the development of several major bridges across the Hong (Red) River, including Tu Lien, Tran Hung Dao, and Ngoch Hoi bridges.
Chairman Thanh agreed to invest in the three large bridges across the Hong River using budget capital.
Specifically, he approved the investment policy for the Tu Lien Bridge and Road Project leading to the Hanoi – Thai Nguyen Expressway, utilizing public investment capital (following the EPC contract direction).
Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee, Duong Duc Tuan, was assigned to work with enterprises to discuss and agree on a feasible and effective investment plan for the Tu Lien Bridge, with construction expected to start soon.
The Planning and Investment Department was urged to promptly consider the Hanoi Transport Department’s proposal on the pre-feasibility study report for the project, provide consultancy and recommendations, and report to the Hanoi City People’s Committee for submission to the competent authority for appraisal and approval of the investment policy in January 2025. They are also responsible for arranging public investment capital for the project. The total estimated investment for the Tu Lien Bridge is VND 19,959 billion.
The Hanoi People’s Committee also agreed on the policy to implement the Tran Hung Dao Bridge construction project with public investment capital. The Transport Department was assigned to urgently organize the preparation of the pre-feasibility study report for the project and submit it to the competent authority for appraisal and approval following the proper procedures. They are expected to report to the Hanoi People’s Committee in February 2025.
The Planning and Architecture Department is in charge of consulting and proposing to the Hanoi People’s Committee the organization of an architectural competition for the main bridge across the Hong River, with a report to be submitted in December.
