The on-demand home services market in Vietnam is witnessing a boom with the recent launch of beGiúpviệc by Be Group JSC. beGiúpviệc is a new app-based hourly cleaning service, with plans to expand into deep cleaning and specialized cleaning services in the future. With a growing number of similar apps already in the market, such as bTaskee, JupViec.vn, GiupVietTot, and Okiaf, the competition is fierce. The standard rate for these services is around 75,000 VND per hour during regular working hours and 85,000 VND per hour at other times. For periodic bookings of one to three months, the rate is slightly lower, ranging from 69,000 to 80,000 VND per hour.

A recent proliferation of on-demand home cleaning apps

Nguyen Thu Phuong, a cleaner working for multiple apps in Hoc Mon District, Ho Chi Minh City, earns around 700,000 VND per day, excluding transportation and cleaning supply costs. She pays a commission of 22-30% to the app companies. “App-based cleaning services are popular because they offer short work durations, and the cleaners take full responsibility for any losses in the client’s home,” she said. However, she noted that the rates through apps are higher than direct hiring, which may be a consideration for some customers.

According to market research firm Grand View Research, the on-demand home services market in the Asia-Pacific region is expected to grow significantly between 2022 and 2030, at a rate of 19.2% per year. This growth is attributed to the busy lifestyles of people in urban areas, especially the younger generation, who prioritize self-development and have less time for household chores.
