On November 25, 2024, the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) announced that VIX Joint Stock Company (VIX: HNX) reported a change in ownership in Viglacera Tien Son Joint Stock Company (VIT: HNX).
Accordingly, on November 18, VIX successfully purchased 2.13 million VIT shares, thereby increasing its ownership in Viglacera Tien Son from over 7.067 million shares (14.13%) to nearly 9.2 million shares (18.39%).
The reason for the change in ownership was to increase the ownership ratio in Viglacera Tien Son. It is known that Viglacera Tien Son is a subsidiary of Viglacera Corporation (VCG: HNX), which holds 51% of its charter capital.
VIX Securities’ increased ownership in Viglacera’s subsidiary comes as the latter has been approved for a change in its listing registration.
Specifically, VIX Securities increased the number of listed securities from 669.4 million shares to 1,458.5 million shares, equivalent to a post-change charter capital of VND 14,585.1 billion.
The effective date of the listing change was from October 18. The reason for the change was that VIX Securities had simultaneously completed four issuances of shares to increase its charter capital.
In particular, VIX issued 66.9 million shares to pay 2023 dividends; issued 66.9 million shares to increase capital from owner’s equity (10% ratio); offered to sell 635.9 million shares to existing shareholders and issued 20 million shares under the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).
The total number of shares issued through the above four issuances was over 789 million.
In terms of business results, VIX’s Q3 2024 financial report showed operating revenue for the period of nearly VND 554 billion, up 71% over the same period last year. Along with the revenue growth, operating expenses also increased nearly threefold to VND 197 billion.
As a result, VIX reported after-tax profit of VND 265.4 billion, up 33.2% over the same period last year.
However, due to the impact of poor business results in the previous quarter, after-tax profit for the first nine months of 2024 was over VND 551.1 billion, down 30% year-on-year.
