Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Hang – Chairwoman of Bao Viet Group

The Board of Directors of Bao Viet Group (stock code BVH) has decided to appoint Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Hang, a member of the Board of Directors, as Chairwoman of the Board from November 27, 2024, until the position is officially filled.

Ms. Hang holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration and has 26 years of experience in the insurance and accounting industries. She previously worked at the Department of Management and Supervision of Insurance (Ministry of Finance) as Head of the Market Development Division and Head of the Non-Life Insurance Management and Supervision Division.

Ms. Hang has been in charge of the Board for the past two years, during a period when the position of Chairman was vacant.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Viet – Acting CEO of Bao Viet Group

On the management side, Mr. Nguyen Dinh An will step down as General Director to assume the role of Vice Chairman of the Group.

The Acting General Director of Bao Viet will be Mr. Nguyen Xuan Viet, a member of the Board of Directors, from November 27 until the position of General Director is officially filled.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Viet holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and has 27 years of experience in the information technology and insurance industries. He is currently the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam National Reinsurance Corporation (stock code VNR).

In August 2022, Bao Viet Group simultaneously dismissed both the Chairman, Mr. Dao Dinh Thi, and the General Director and Board member, Mr. Do Truong Minh. Mr. Dao Dinh Thi had served as Chairman for nearly eight years and was dismissed due to his resignation as the authorized representative of the State capital in Bao Viet.

Bao Viet Group is currently 65% owned by the Ministry of Finance, with Sumitomo Life Insurance Company holding 22.09% and SCIC holding 2.98%.

In the last trading session of the week on November 29, BVH shares suddenly surged to a ceiling price of VND 47,500 – the highest price in the past year, reaching a market capitalization of nearly VND 35,300 billion.
