On November 30, the People’s Committee of Ca Mau city, Ca Mau province, announced the merger and reorganization of communal-level administrative units and introduced the new political system.
Phan Ngoc Hien Bridge, formerly the administrative boundary between Ward 2 and Ward 4, now belongs to the new Ward 2.
As a result, Ca Mau city merged a part of Ward 9 and a part of Ward 4 into Ward 2. After the merger, the new Ward 2 has a natural area of over 2.4 square kilometers and a population of more than 23,400 people.
The remaining area and population of Ward 4 were merged into Tan Xuyen Ward.
Regarding Ward 9, after the reorganization, the remaining area is over 6.4 square kilometers, with a population of more than 14,200 people.
Consequently, after the reorganization, Ca Mau city will have 16 communal-level administrative units, including 9 wards and 7 communes.
