Realme has officially confirmed that the much-anticipated Realme Neo7 smartphone will be launching on December 11 in China. Even though the global release date remains undisclosed, this mid-range device has already garnered significant attention. Realme has revealed that the Neo7 will feature a large-capacity 7,000mAh Titan battery, a rarity even among flagship models.
Realme collaborated with CATL to develop the Titan battery, which utilizes Silicon Carbon battery technology to increase energy density while reducing weight despite its high capacity. CATL (Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited) is a leading global battery manufacturer, renowned for their products supplied to prominent electric vehicle brands, including VinFast.
Despite having a larger battery capacity, the Realme Neo7 will not be as thick as one might imagine. According to Realme, the Neo7 measures only 8.5mm in thickness, making it sleeker than its predecessor, the GT Neo6 (8.6mm), while boasting a higher-capacity battery (7,000mAh vs. 5,500mAh). In fact, the Neo7’s thickness is on par with some of the leading smartphones in the market today, such as the iPhone 16 Pro Max (8.3mm) and the Galaxy S24 Ultra (8.6mm), despite its significantly larger battery.
Rumors suggest that the Realme Neo7 will support 80W SuperVOOC wired charging, allowing for rapid charging of its large-capacity battery. In terms of performance, the phone is powered by the Dimensity 9300+ processor, which has demonstrated impressive benchmarks with scores reaching 2.4 million on AnTuTu, as disclosed by leaker Digital Chat Station. The device is also expected to feature a large 1.5K resolution display.
The “quality > IP68” message previously teased by Realme hints that the phone may achieve the IP69 dust and water resistance standard, a certification rarely seen outside of flagship and high-performance devices. With a starting price of approximately 2,499 Chinese yuan (around $350), the Neo7 targets the mid-range segment.
In November, Xu Qi, vice president of Realme, global marketing director, and president of Realme China, revealed that the company’s mid-range lineup would consist of two distinct series: the premium “Realme GT Series” and the “Realme Neo Series,” focusing on e-sports. Realme asserts that the upcoming Neo7 will deliver “the strongest performance, the best battery life, and the top quality” within its price range.
Compared to the Realme GT Neo6, which was launched in May 2023 and features a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, a 5,500mAh battery, and 120W charging, the Neo7 is expected to offer superior battery life and performance, making it an attractive option for those seeking a more powerful device without breaking the bank.
