Mrs. Khuyen, who was born into a poor family, has faced a lifetime of hardships, but her face always exudes a vibrant energy. At 72, an age when she should be resting and enjoying her golden years, Mrs. Khiem has to walk 45 minutes every day to tend to her corn fields, earning a meager income to support her youngest son, Ngahn Van Huong (born in 1984), who is battling health issues.

Huong has been suffering from bone tuberculosis since he was 13 years old. Due to prolonged antibiotic use, one of his kidneys dried up, and he now requires regular treatment at a hospital 60 km away, staying nearby for convenience and only returning home twice a month.

The family’s meager income consists of a monthly disability allowance of 700,000 VND and approximately 10 million VND per year from Mrs. Khuyen’s corn harvest, which covers Huong’s living expenses, rent, and medical treatment.

Thinking of her son’s plight often brings tears to Mrs. Khuyen’s eyes, but her resilient spirit shines through as she comforts herself: “I am fortunate to have lived over 70 years without any serious illness or hospitalization. As long as I am healthy, I can continue to care for my son, and that is a blessing.”

This small but mighty woman has bravely faced her son’s illness head-on. She has never considered repairing their dilapidated house, which is on the brink of collapse.

The “Ca Mau Fertilizer – Hands-on Techniques – Overcoming Difficulties Now” program by PVCFC brought hope to this mother and son, making their dream of a new home a reality. “If it weren’t for kind sponsors like Ca Mau Fertilizer, I would never have imagined that, in my old age, I would be able to live in a sturdy new house. And just in time for the cornfield fertilization, their support couldn’t have come at a better moment,” shared Mrs. Khuyen, overcome with emotion.

Mrs. Khuyen’s family was one of three recipients of a new house through the PVCFC program in Son La. The company also donated 25 tons of NPK Ca Mau fertilizer and provided direct cultivation guidance to 500 underprivileged households in the area.

With these timely gifts, PVCFC aims to improve the lives of the less fortunate, providing the motivation to overcome their current challenges and eventually achieve a stable and prosperous future, contributing to the betterment of society and the nation.

Since November, the “Ca Mau Fertilizer – Hands-on Techniques – Overcoming Difficulties Now” program, organized by the Ca Mau Petroleum Fertilizer Joint Stock Company (PVCFC), has been implemented in 13 provinces/cities in northern Vietnam, with a total value of 3.2 billion VND.
