Mrs. Khuyen, who was born into a poor family, has faced hardships her entire life. Yet, at 72 years old, her face still exudes a vibrant energy. Instead of resting at her age, she walks 45 minutes every day to tend to her cornfields, striving to earn enough to support her youngest son, Ngần Văn Hương (born in 1984), who is battling health issues.

Hương has been suffering from bone tuberculosis since he was 13 years old. Due to prolonged antibiotic use, one of his kidneys has dried up, and he now requires treatment at a hospital 60 km away, staying nearby for convenience. He only returns home twice a month.

Hương’s living expenses, rent, and medical costs are covered by a monthly disability allowance of 700,000 VND from the local government and approximately 10 million VND per year from Mrs. Khuyen’s corn harvest.

Representatives from PVCFC visit and offer encouragement to Mrs. Khuyen.

Thinking about her son fills Mrs. Khuyen’s eyes with tears, but her resilient spirit keeps her going. “I’m fortunate to have lived over 70 years without any serious illness or hospitalization,” she says. “As long as I’m healthy, I can still take care of my son, and that’s a blessing.”

This petite yet strong-willed woman has bravely faced her son’s illness head-on. She has never considered repairing their old, dilapidated house, which is on the verge of collapse.

The program “Cà Mau Fertilizer – Hands-on Techniques – Overcoming Difficulties Now” by PVCFC brought hope to the mother and son, making their dream of a new home a reality. “If it weren’t for kind sponsors like Cà Mau Fertilizer, I would never have imagined owning a sturdy home at my age,” said an emotional Mrs. Khuyen. “Their support with fertilizer for our cornfield couldn’t have come at a better time, saving me from taking on more debt.”

Mrs. Khuyen’s family was one of three recipients of a new home through the PVCFC program in Sơn La. The company also donated 25 tons of NPK Cà Mau fertilizer and provided direct cultivation guidance to 500 disadvantaged households in the area.

With these timely gifts, PVCFC aims to improve the lives of the locals and motivate them to overcome their challenges. The company hopes to empower them to achieve a stable and prosperous life, contributing to a better society and country.

Starting in November, PVCFC launched the “Cà Mau Fertilizer – Hands-on Techniques – Overcoming Difficulties Now” program in 13 provinces/cities in northern Vietnam, with a total value of 3.2 billion VND.
