Toyota Vietnam (TMV) recently announced its November 2024 sales figures, reporting a total of 8,851 units sold (including Lexus sales). This marks the second consecutive month that Toyota has surpassed the 8,000-unit sales mark, bringing its year-to-date sales for 2024 to over 59,000 units. The brand is well on its way to achieving the milestone of 1 million units sold in 2025, which will coincide with its 30th anniversary in Vietnam.
Breaking down the sales, Toyota sold 8,693 units nationwide, including 4,132 domestically assembled vehicles and 4,561 completely built-up imported units. Notably, sales of Hybrid vehicles stood at 608 units, contributing to a total of 4,489 Hybrid vehicles sold in the first 11 months of 2024. This reflects the growing popularity of fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly vehicles among customers.
In November 2024, Lexus delivered an exceptional experience to 158 customers, bringing its cumulative sales since its introduction in Vietnam to 13,567 units. The Vios remains Toyota’s best-selling model in the market. Specifically, compared to the previous month, sales of the Toyota Vios in November 2024 increased by approximately 21%, with 2,135 units sold. With these impressive figures, the Toyota Vios is likely to maintain its position as the best-selling compact B-segment sedan in the market.
In addition to the Vios, another domestically assembled model, the Veloz Cross, also witnessed a slight increase in sales compared to October, with 1,146 units sold. Imported models, such as the Yaris Cross (1,188 units) and Corolla Cross (1,150 units), contributed significantly to the overall sales.
TMV representatives attributed the stable sales performance in November partly to the continued support from the government’s registration fee exemption policy for domestically assembled vehicles. Additionally, Toyota’s promotional programs for models like the Vios, Yaris Cross, Veloz Cross, Avanza Premio, and Corolla Cross in November also played a significant role in making vehicle ownership more accessible for customers ahead of the 2025 Tet holiday.
