At the Binh Duong Province Job Center, Mr. Nguyen Tan Minh (29 years old, from Dak Nong province) shared that he is interested in some temporary jobs such as security guard, loader, and general laborer.
“I know that during the end-of-year holidays, many companies need to find temporary workers, so I came to Binh Duong province to look for opportunities. The income in the last month of the year is usually higher, so I want to work and earn some extra money for the Tet holiday. There are not many job opportunities in my hometown at this time.”

Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet (38 years old, from Soc Trang province) had to leave her previous job to return to her hometown. In late November, after settling her family matters, she came back to Binh Duong province.
“I know that finding a job during the end of the year is usually easy. This is a suitable time to explore different workplaces, and if I feel it’s a good fit, I will consider staying long-term,” shared Ms. Tuyet.
Temporary jobs at the end of the year also attract many students. For students, temporary work not only provides extra income but also offers valuable experience that can be beneficial for their future careers.
“I’m looking for a temporary job that offers the income I desire while still allowing me to attend classes,” said Nguyen Thi Mai, a final-year student at a university in Binh Duong province.
At Hung Kiu Vietnam Garment Company Ltd. in Tan Uyen City, Binh Duong province, the work environment is bustling with activity as the factory races to fulfill Tet holiday orders. Ms. Tran Ngoc Tran (from Bac Lieu province), who works in the quality control department, happily shared her thoughts about her job and income. She has just started working and is still in training, earning nearly 11 million VND per month, including overtime pay.
“I used to work for another company, and although I did overtime there too, my income was not as high. However, working here is very comfortable, and overtime is arranged according to the workers’ preferences. The company also provides adequate meals,” shared Ms. Tran.
Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy An, Head of Human Resources at Phuc Thang Furniture Company Ltd. (Binh Duong), shared that workers who sign up for the Tet holiday shift will receive 400% of their daily wage. Both permanent and temporary workers are entitled to the same benefits. “New workers will receive vocational training to ensure they can perform their jobs well. If they show dedication and a positive attitude towards work, the company will create favorable conditions for them to stay long-term,” Ms. An added.
Preventing the “Job Hopping” Trend and Avoiding Scams
Mr. Duong Tan Minh, Head of Counseling and Job Introduction at the Binh Duong Province Job Center, said that in the last months of the year, companies have a high demand for unskilled labor in industries such as garment, footwear, wood processing, home appliances, mechanics, and electronics.
Therefore, the center has arranged counseling groups to inform workers about companies that are hiring and their specific salary levels. Additionally, in early December, they will introduce temporary jobs such as supermarket staff, gift packers, etc.
Ms. Nguyen Van Hanh Thuc, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Job Service Center, said that companies in the city are in high demand for labor to meet the production and business needs during the upcoming Tet holiday in 2025. The center will organize more job fairs to connect companies with job seekers.
Ms. Thuc also advised job seekers to be cautious of attractive offers like “easy work, high pay.” It is essential to thoroughly research job advertisements to avoid falling into scam traps.
Leaders of some companies expressed their concern about the “job hopping” trend during the end of the year. “Job hopping” can cause difficulties for companies as each new employee requires training to adapt to the work. This trend also complicates human resource statistics and forecasting, as some workers may be tempted to leave for seemingly better opportunities, only to return to the job center shortly after.
Mr. Pham Van Tuyen, Deputy Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs of Binh Duong province, said that in the last months of 2024, companies in the province need to recruit an additional 10,000 to 15,000 workers. Overall, the labor market is showing signs of improvement compared to 2023. Meanwhile, the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Human Resources Forecast and Labor Market Information predicted that companies would need about 83,000 workers in the last three months of the year. |
