Thorough Preparations for the Groundbreaking Ceremony of the Gia Binh Airport Construction Project
Recently, the Mobile Police Command organized a conference to review and deploy the plan for the groundbreaking ceremony of the Gia Binh Airport Construction Project.
Major General Nguyen Ngoc Van, Commander of the Mobile Police, and Colonel Nguyen Hong Nguyen, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Public Security, co-chaired the conference. The event was also attended by leaders of functional units of the Ministry of Public Security and the Bac Ninh Provincial Police.
At the conference, the delegates discussed the results of the tasks assigned in Plan No. 553/KH-BCA-K02 dated November 27, 2024, of the Ministry of Public Security. They also agreed on the content and coordination plan to deploy the tasks in the next period to ensure the groundbreaking ceremony is held with solemnity, safety, and on schedule.
Earlier, on September 17, 2024, the Government approved the investment policy for the Gia Binh Airport Construction Project in Bac Ninh province. The initial scale of the airport is a specialized airport equivalent to a 3C-level airport.
The project is intended for the People’s Public Security Air Force to perform training and combat-ready missions with the equipped helicopters. It can also accommodate take-off and landing for Chinook CH-47D, Mi-8, Mi-171 helicopters, and Casa-295 transport aircraft.
At the same time, when conditions permit, the airport can serve as a backup for airports in the region in emergency situations. It will be capable of receiving Su-27, Su-30, Embraer, and ATR72 aircraft and their equivalents.
The orientation is to plan and invest in the Gia Binh Airport of the People’s Public Security Air Force as a national security and defense airport, a specialized airport equivalent to a 4E-level airport.
Accordingly, the orientation is to ensure the operation of special flights serving the leaders of the Party, State, and international dignitaries on large-winged aircraft. It will also handle cargo and passenger transportation when required and conditions are met.

According to the plan, in the first phase, Gia Binh district made payments to 648 households in the villages of My Thon, Dinh Cuong, Vang Thon, Ngo Thon, and Dinh Mo in Xuan Lai commune, and four households in Dong Binh village, Gia Binh town. The total amount disbursed was about VND 400 billion. The payment process started on November 15 and was completed before November 18, 2024. The site clearance was completed ahead of schedule, several days earlier than planned.
As a result, Bac Ninh province handed over the cleared site to the Mobile Police Command on December 1, in time for the groundbreaking ceremony and project completion before the 14th National Party Congress.
