In late 2019, the first phase of Duong Do Muoi Street was inaugurated by the city of Hai Phong. This initial stretch of road spans 1.6 kilometers and boasts an impressive 12 lanes, with a width of 90 meters for the majority of its length and a slightly narrower section of 65 meters.
To enhance traffic flow and connectivity between the city center and Thuy Nguyen district, Hai Phong commenced the construction of the Duong Do Muoi Extension project in early 2023.
With a total investment of over VND 1,000 billion from the city’s budget, the Duong Do Muoi Extension project is slated for completion in 2024. The photo depicts the starting point of the project.
The Duong Do Muoi Extension spans 1.58 kilometers, excluding a 160-meter section that passes through the Hoang Huy New City project. Designed for a speed of 60 kilometers per hour, the road’s width varies from 30 to 50.5 meters, accommodating 6 to 8 lanes.
The starting point of the Duong Do Muoi Extension is strategically located adjacent to two nearly VND 5,000 billion projects currently under construction: the Political-Administrative Center and the Conference and Performance Center.
The Duong Do Muoi Extension concludes at the intersection with Duong Truc 9C VSIP Hai Phong. VSIP Hai Phong is a massive project encompassing 16 square kilometers and attracting investments of up to one billion USD. It comprises industrial, urban, and service components, as seen in the photo of the endpoint.
Upon completion, the Duong Do Muoi Extension will serve as a vital link between Hai Phong’s new Political-Administrative Center and the billion-dollar VSIP project. The photo showcases the VSIP Hai Phong development.
Additionally, the Duong Do Muoi Extension will facilitate the creation of new urban development spaces along its route, further enhancing the city’s growth.
In terms of progress, the Duong Do Muoi Extension has largely completed its asphalt concrete pavement, and locals in the surrounding areas have already begun using it for local travel.
The most significant challenge faced by the Duong Do Muoi Extension project is the 160-meter section that remains unfinished. This stretch of road, which falls within the scope of a project undertaken by the Hoang Huy Corporation, is yet to be completed.
