Explaining the voters’ and delegates’ opinions related to land auction solutions, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Le Ngoc Khanh said that up to now, the progress of land auction is slower than the planned schedule.
Specifically, in 2024, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province has issued an auction plan for nine land plots with a total area of about 102.54 hectares (with complete legal conditions in terms of land, planning, construction, and infrastructure connections). Among these, two land plots are for auction with medical purposes, one land plot for a housing project (urban area), and six land plots for commercial and service purposes.
However, according to the Vice Chairman of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Provincial People’s Committee, only one land plot has been auctioned so far. Through a review, the Provincial People’s Committee will focus on directing the auction of three out of nine land plots in 2024, with an expected revenue of 1,562 billion VND. These include: Public land in Thang Tam Ward (Tourist Market), Land in Ward 11 (Vung Tau City), and Public land in Phu My Ward (Phu My Town).
The Vice Chairman of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Provincial People’s Committee also proposed solutions to overcome the causes of delays in the public land auction in the past, focusing on detailed planning, auction procedures, and determination of the starting price.
According to the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, in 2025, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province plans to auction 12 land plots. These are lands managed by the Provincial Land Development Fund with an area of about 132.7 hectares. (Excluding the 9 auction plots in 2024)
Of the 12 land plots, four are in Vung Tau city, including: 4-hectare land plot at the corner of Thuy Van – Hoang Hoa Tham Street, 2.76-hectare land plot (Cluster 5), 0.52-hectare land plot on Tran Phu Street, and the old Le Loi Hospital.
Ba Ria town has four land plots, including: 0.69-hectare land plot in Long Tam Ward, 0.98-hectare land plot in Phuoc Hung Ward (both plots were retrieved from Thong Nhat Rubber Company), Land retrieved from the old Ba Ria Hospital, and 83.04-hectare land plot (Cỏ May Resort and Tourism Area).
Xuyen Moc district has two land plots: 13.6-hectare land plot in Bung Rieng commune and 18.96-hectare land plot in Phuoc Thuan commune. Chau Duc district has a 0.52-hectare land plot retrieved from Hoa Viet Joint Stock Company, Xa Bang commune.
Up to now, according to the preliminary report of the districts, town, and city, 7/12 land plots have ensured approval of detailed planning at a ratio of 1/500 in the first quarter of 2025; 5/12 land plots are approved for detailed planning at a ratio of 1/500 in the second quarter of 2025.
At present, the People’s Committees of the districts, town, and city are coordinating with the departments and sectors to establish, appraise, and approve the detailed planning at a ratio of 1/500 to ensure the auction progress according to the plan.
