On December 13, the Research Center for Population Data and Civil Status Application (RAR Center) under Department C06 (Ministry of Public Security) and FPT Long Chau signed a cooperation agreement to deploy FPT Long Chau Pharmacy’s electronic authentication service via VNeID. As a result, people will be able to safely and conveniently purchase medicine online through the app-to-app connection between the Long Chau Pharmacy app and VNeID.

Earlier, on October 2, 2024, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh launched the Electronic Health Record on the VNeID app, stating the goal: “After 2025, every Vietnamese citizen, even those without health insurance, will own an electronic health record on the VNeID app, towards having electronic medical records.”

As a component of the Electronic Health Record, in the future, people will be able to purchase medicine from Long Chau Pharmacy via VNeID. This is an essential utility for people to proactively monitor their medical history, prescriptions, and purchase medicine on VNeID.

In the future, when the Electronic Health Record on the VNeID app is widely deployed and used, people will no longer need to carry papers when visiting medical facilities, buying medicine, and can continuously and comprehensively monitor their health. At the same time, they will have information to proactively prevent diseases, reduce costs, reduce the burden on the healthcare system, and provide timely and accurate data for doctors to improve diagnosis and treatment effectiveness.

The first participation of FPT Long Chau, and later many other pharmacies when meeting management and technical conditions, in providing genuine and quality medicines to the people, will complete the digital ecosystem in the field of healthcare, ensuring that people can conveniently and easily access healthcare services.

VNeID is a mobile application developed by the National Population Data Center of the Ministry of Public Security. VNeID is an electronic identification application that can replace traditional paper documents and identify citizens in the digital environment. VNeID electronic identification accounts have been widely applied in various aspects of socio-economic life, especially in essential fields.

To deploy online medicine purchases on VNeID, FPT Long Chau has closely coordinated with the RAR Center, which is directly under the National Population Data Center, the Department of Administrative Management of Social Order (C06) – Ministry of Public Security, to integrate systems, upgrade infrastructure technology, and apply modern solutions to activate the online medicine purchase utility to serve people in all 63 provinces and cities.

The process of buying medicine through VNeID is optimized with quick login steps, helping to complete the transaction in just a few simple steps, which not only saves time but also ensures transparency, safety, and information security.

In addition, when buying medicine online from VNeID, management agencies can identify the buyer and seller by identification code and authentication features; order details down to the type of medicine, ingredients, selling price, quantity; record the transaction history between the buyer and the seller; and, if necessary, accurately trace the route of goods in case of unforeseen circumstances.

At the event, Lieutenant Colonel Vu Van Tan, Deputy Director of the Department of Administrative Management of Social Order, Ministry of Public Security, said that the cooperation between the Research Center for Population Data and Civil Status Application (RAR Center) and FPT Long Chau demonstrates the enterprise’s companionship in the national digital transformation when starting to digitize Long Chau pharmacies and towards identifying Long Chau pharmacies, thereby helping the healthcare sector to have a database of pharmacies.

According to Notification No. 487/TB-VPCP on the conclusions of the online conference on deploying the expansion of the pilot Electronic Health Record and issuing Judicial Profile via VNeID nationwide, the results of the deployment of the Electronic Health Record have established 32.1 million health records for the people, of which 14.6 million citizens have integrated their Electronic Health Record with VNeID. The goal set for 2025 is for 100% of medical facilities (including both public and private) to use Electronic Health Records and for 40 million people to use Electronic Health Records. After 2025, every Vietnamese citizen, even those without health insurance, will own an Electronic Health Record on the VNeID app, and 30% of the population will have electronic medical records when they go to medical facilities. By 2025, 100% of people with a need will be able to register for a Judicial Profile via VNeID.
