Packaging Speak Out 2024 witnessed an impressive participation of students from over 40 universities and colleges nationwide, along with the involvement of more than 200 students in specialized workshops. It has become a practical platform for the youth, simultaneously fostering a green future for Vietnam’s packaging industry.
Held annually, Packaging Speak Out is increasingly proving its immense appeal within the student community, offering young talents the opportunity to develop and excel in the field of sustainable packaging. This year, the contest left a remarkable impression with the enthusiastic participation of students from various provinces, from Nghe An, Hue, Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City, competing in three categories: E-commerce Packaging, Gift Packaging, and Product Display Shelves.
Young Innovators Shaping Market Trends
The winning designs at Packaging Speak Out 2024 – Vietnam stood out due to their creativity, sustainability, and high applicability. Team Ca Moi, the champion in the Product Display Shelves category, impressed with their shelf design inspired by the Vietnamese cooking pot, featuring a 360-degree rotating base, optimally showcasing Barona’s hot pot products. Team Ban Lam Viec excelled in the E-commerce Packaging category with a sturdy shipping box and captivating graphics that attract online shoppers. Meanwhile, Team Apollo led the Gift Packaging category with their Tet gift box, “Tu Dai Dong Duong,” integrating a Polaroid photo frame, decorations, and lucky money, embodying traditional values.
Each masterpiece bore a unique signature, ranging from the use of environmentally friendly materials to design optimizations catering to the current e-commerce trends.
Contestant Hoang Phu Lam from Team Apollo shared, “We were deeply impressed by the way SCGP organized the contest, providing a platform that not only stimulated our creativity but also helped us understand the necessity and applicability of sustainable packaging in modern life. The competition has been a journey of learning and self-improvement for us as aspiring packaging designers.”

With the aim of fostering the sustainable development of the packaging industry, the competition exposed young talents to the latest trends, from the application of eco-friendly materials to designs meeting the demands of the modern market. Simultaneously, it provided businesses with an opportunity to listen to creative ideas rooted in practicality, contributing to the search for innovative packaging solutions.
This connection has created valuable outcomes for the packaging industry, empowering young people to hone their practical skills while offering businesses a platform to discover potential talents and solutions. As a judge and mentor to the contestants, Mr. Luong Anh Vu, Senior Brand Manager at Mondelez Kinh Do, viewed the contest as an excellent opportunity for businesses to collaborate with young talents and help them apply their creativity in packaging solutions with high applicability. Meanwhile, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Truc, Marketing Director of Barona – Nam Phuong Food, believed that competitions closely linked to the industry would offer students a more comprehensive perspective on the packaging value chain. She also commended the solutions presented by the young participants for their novelty, creativity, and ability to meet the practical needs of businesses today.
