As we approach the final month of 2024, the top-selling automotive brands in the Vietnamese market have begun to emerge. After 11 months, the highest-selling automakers include VinFast, Hyundai, Toyota, Ford, and Mitsubishi.

VinFast

VinFast, a Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer, recently announced impressive sales figures for November, selling over 16,000 units and bringing their total sales for the year to 67,000 vehicles. With these remarkable numbers, VinFast currently leads the Vietnamese automotive market in terms of overall sales.

VinFast is also poised to become the best-selling automotive brand for the year, with a significant lead of over 8,000 vehicles ahead of the second-placed brand.

While VinFast has not disclosed individual model sales figures, they attributed their recent growth to the popular VF 5 and VF 3 models.

Hyundai

Hyundai Thành Công, the official distributor of Hyundai vehicles in Vietnam, sold a total of 58,849 automobiles in the country as of November 2024, reflecting a 4% increase compared to the same period last year. This figure includes 49,385 passenger cars and 9,464 commercial vehicles.

The Hyundai Accent and Creta models have been the top performers, contributing significantly to the brand’s overall sales, with 11,677 and 7,739 units sold, respectively. Additionally, the recently updated Santa Fe and Tucson models have also been well-received, with sales figures ranging between 5,000 and 6,000 units.

Toyota

Toyota, a renowned automotive brand, has sold a total of 57,934 vehicles in the first 11 months of the year, securing the third position in the Vietnamese market. When focusing on the passenger car segment, Toyota rises to the second position.

The Toyota Vios sedan continues to be the brand’s best-selling model, with 12,706 units sold so far this year. It firmly leads the B-segment sedan category and is on track to maintain this position.

Other notable contributors to Toyota’s overall sales include the Yaris Cross and Corolla Cross compact SUVs, with 9,596 and 6,629 units sold, respectively, as well as the Veloz Cross MPV, which sold 7,425 units. These models have consistently ranked among the top 10 best-selling vehicles in the country.

Ford

Ford, the American automotive giant, has delivered 38,683 vehicles to customers in the first 11 months of 2024, positioning them as the fourth best-selling brand in Vietnam.

Notably, Ford offers only five models in the Vietnamese market, two of which consistently dominate their respective segments: the Ford Ranger and the Ford Everest. Together, these two models account for two-thirds of Ford’s total sales in Vietnam, with a combined total of 25,796 units sold this year.

Additionally, the Ford Territory crossover has been performing well, with 7,513 units sold so far this year. It currently holds the second position in the C-segment for high-riding vehicles, just behind the Mazda CX-5.

Mitsubishi

Mitsubishi, another Japanese automotive brand, occupies the fifth position in the Vietnamese market, with a total of 37,390 vehicles sold so far this year.

The Mitsubishi Xpander and Xforce models have been the key contributors to the brand’s success, with sales figures of 17,509 and 13,267 units, respectively. The Xpander is on track to become the best-selling vehicle in Vietnam for the year.

The Xforce, a new model introduced earlier this year, has quickly risen to become the best-selling SUV in the B-segment. This early success bodes well for the model’s future performance and solidifies its position as Mitsubishi’s second-most important model in Vietnam, after the Xpander.
