Hội nghị công bố Quy hoạch tổng thể khai thác, sử dụng bền vững tài nguyên vùng bờ

On the morning of December 15, in Nha Trang City, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, in collaboration with the People’s Committee of Khanh Hoa Province, organized a conference to announce the Master Plan for Sustainable Exploitation and Use of Shore Resources for the period of 2021 – 2030, with a vision towards 2050, and to deploy a summary of the Law on Marine and Island Resources and Environment.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Do Duc Duy, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, emphasized the diversity and richness of Vietnam’s marine resources and their vast potential for developing important economic sectors. In implementation of the Strategy for Sustainable Development of the Marine Economy and the provisions of the Planning Law, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has taken the lead in coordinating with ministries, sectors, and localities to develop the Master Plan for Sustainable Exploitation and Use of Shore Resources. This is a new planning initiative, the first of its kind in Vietnam, with a wide planning scope.

The implementation of this planning will contribute to the development of Vietnam’s coastal areas into vibrant economic and cultural centers, serving as gateways connecting the mainland to the sea and providing a solid foundation for maritime expansion.

The approved planning also serves as a basis for further完善ing the legal framework, enhancing the effectiveness of comprehensive management of marine resources and the environment, while strengthening national defense and security capabilities, ensuring national interests in the sea, and contributing to Vietnam’s development as a strong and prosperous maritime nation.
