On the morning of December 14, the People’s Committee of Binh Phuoc Province organized a groundbreaking ceremony for the Ho Chi Minh City-Thu Dau Mot-Chon Thanh Expressway project in the province and announced Phase 2 of the Becamex Binh Phuoc Industrial Park.
The ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha and leaders of central ministries and local authorities.
The Ho Chi Minh City-Thu Dau Mot-Chon Thanh Expressway (Binh Phuoc section) has a total length of about 6.6km, a designed speed of 100km/h, and a scale of four lanes.
With a total investment of VND 1,474 billion, the project starts at the boundary between Binh Duong and Binh Phuoc provinces and ends in Chon Thanh town, Binh Phuoc province. The funding sources include VND 1,000 billion from the central budget and the remaining from the local budget.
The project is expected to be implemented from 2024 to 2026. In 2024, the focus will be on investment preparation, approval of investment policies, feasibility studies, contractor selection, and construction commencement. The construction will continue in 2025-2026, with the aim of completing and putting the project into operation by the end of 2026.
According to Tran Tue Hien, Vice Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, the construction of the Ho Chi Minh City-Thu Dau Mot-Chon Thanh Expressway in Binh Phuoc will contribute to the completion of the high-speed road network as per the approved plan.
Together with the North-South Expressway, Western Route, in the section of Gia Nghia (Dak Nong) – Chon Thanh (Binh Phuoc), it will form a transport network connecting the Central Highlands, the Southeast, and the Mekong Delta regions. This will create an important transport axis, promoting the development of infrastructure along the route, enhancing connectivity, reducing travel time and transportation costs, and ensuring traffic safety.
Becamex IDC Corporation’s General Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Becamex Binh Phuoc, Pham Ngoc Thuan, shared that the Becamex Binh Phuoc Industrial Park is designed with an area of 2,448 hectares and will be developed following the model of an integrated industrial and urban ecosystem. This comprehensive ecosystem will encompass industrial services (logistics, ready-built factories, transportation infrastructure, telecommunications, etc.), urban services (housing for experts and workers, healthcare, education, entertainment, etc.), and innovation services (enterprise research institutes, R&D centers, business incubators, etc.) to meet the diverse needs of investors, from industrial and urban solutions to innovation.
Thus far, the industrial park has attracted 77 investors with a total registered capital of over USD 1 billion.
Out of the 6.6km length of the Ho Chi Minh City-Thu Dau Mot-Chon Thanh Expressway project in Binh Phuoc, 2km will pass through the Becamex Binh Phuoc Industrial Park, which is part of the cooperation program between Binh Duong and Binh Phuoc provinces.
The Ho Chi Minh City-Thu Dau Mot-Chon Thanh Expressway has a total length of 68.7km.
On this occasion, Becamex Binh Phuoc Company presented 500 houses worth VND 40 billion to poor households in Binh Phuoc Province.
