According to the Ninh Binh Portal, Mr. Bui Van Manh, Director of the Provincial Tourism Department, shared that this result is a testament to the efforts, creativity, effectiveness, and substance of both local authorities and businesses in implementing policies to restore international tourism in new conditions.
At the same time, the Tourism Department closely coordinated with the Provincial Tourism Association to encourage tourism businesses to enhance tourism promotion and investment, improve service quality, and research new tourism products and services, especially for international visitors.
In recent times, Ninh Binh has quickly identified target markets such as India, Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan and has since intensified tourism promotion activities in these markets.
Mr. Bui Van Manh stated that a notable event this year was the warm reception and safe accommodation of a 5,000-member group from an Indian billionaire, Mr. Dilip Shanghvi of Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.
This event affirmed the province’s capacity to receive and organize events for large groups, as well as demonstrated the potential of Ninh Binh, and Vietnam in general, to further attract new markets in the future.
It is known that from August 28 to September 3, 2024, Ninh Binh welcomed a group of 4,500 people from Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. During their stay, the group visited eco-tourism sites in Trang An, including May Cave, Dia Linh Cave, Suoi Tien Temple, Thanh Truot Cave, and the Royal Docking Station.
The Director of the Provincial Tourism Department also shared that, so far this year, the province has participated in several international tourism promotion activities, such as the ASEAN Tourism Forum and Travex International Travel Fair 2024 in Vientiane (Laos); tourism promotion and investment activities in Thailand and Cambodia; and the KITS 2024 Fair in South Korea.
These activities have contributed to the exploration and expansion of markets, further promoting the image and brand of Ninh Binh tourism on the international map. This is also a key solution to attracting more international visitors in 2024.
In 2024, Ninh Binh Province expects to see a positive growth in the number of international visitors, with an estimated total of over 8.7 million tourists, a 26.5% increase compared to the same period, exceeding the annual plan by 16%. Of that, the number of international visitors is estimated at 1.5 million, accounting for nearly 10% of the total international visitors to Vietnam.
