Referred 173 Subjects for Investigation and Handling
In the opening speech at the online conference on December 28, summarizing the work of the inspection sector in 2024 and deploying tasks for 2025, Inspector General of the Government Doan Hong Phong stated that 2024 was a year with a large volume of work, especially unexpected tasks assigned by the Central Steering Committee for Corruption, Wastefulness, and Negative Behavior Prevention and Control; the Government, the Prime Minister, and heads of administrative agencies at all levels.
Under the leadership of the Central Party Committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat, the National Assembly, the Government, and the Prime Minister, along with the efforts of all sectors, the Government Inspectorate and the inspection sector have overcome challenges and excellently fulfilled their assigned tasks, achieving significant results.
These results have contributed to corruption prevention, social order and safety stabilization, and the country’s economic development.

Presenting the draft report summarizing the work in 2024 and the key tasks for 2025, Deputy Inspector General of the Government Duong Quoc Huy said that the Government Inspectorate and inspectors of ministries, sectors, and localities focused on inspecting the state management of sectors and fields prone to corruption, negativity, and public grievances and attracting social attention.
The inspection sector also proactively followed up, urged, and inspected the implementation of inspection conclusions to promptly and lawfully handle collectives and individuals with violations; recover lost and appropriated assets; improve state management; and perfect policies and laws in the inspected fields.
According to the consolidated data, the sector conducted 6,673 administrative inspections and 118,983 specialized inspections and examinations. Through these inspections, state management was improved, and mechanisms, policies, and laws in many fields were perfected; economic violations worth VND 157,585 billion and 245 hectares of land were detected; and the handling of 2,360 collectives and 9,017 individuals was recommended.
Additionally, the inspection sector referred 269 cases with 173 subjects for investigation and handling.
Disciplinary Action Taken Against 10 Individuals Related to Asset and Income Declaration
According to Deputy Inspector General Duong Quoc Huy, citizen reception and settlement of complaints and denunciations have made essential contributions to strengthening people’s trust in the Party and the State, ensuring political stability, social order and safety, and serving political, cultural, and socio-economic development tasks.
The rate of handling complaints and denunciations within the authority reached 85.4%, higher than the Government’s target of 85%, especially the rate of handling denunciations reaching 88.5%.
State administrative agencies at all levels handled 25,823 out of 30,238 complaints and denunciations within their authority; recommended the recovery of nearly VND 34 billion and more than 19 hectares of land to the State; returned more than VND 106 billion and 1.5 hectares of land to organizations and individuals; restored and ensured the rights and interests of 26 organizations and 2,235 individuals; recommended the handling of 543 people; and transferred 17 cases with 21 subjects to investigative agencies for handling.

Regarding the work of corruption, negativity, and wastefulness prevention and control, according to Mr. Duong Quoc Huy, the sector continued to focus on effectively implementing tasks under the direction of the Central Committee, the Government, and the Prime Minister. In terms of implementing the rules of conduct and professional ethics, ministries, sectors, and localities inspected 4,653 agencies, organizations, and units; promptly detected and handled 164 officials and public employees with violations.
The sectors and localities also conducted job rotation for 18,635 officials and public employees to prevent corruption.
Notably, in 2024, agencies verified the asset and income declarations of 6,775 people, and disciplinary action was taken against 10 individuals for dishonest asset and income declarations. In addition, 46 cases of irresponsibility leading to corruption were concluded, and 52 individuals were disciplined.
Furthermore, agencies discovered 61 cases and 107 individuals related to corruption (including 11 cases and 19 individuals detected through internal inspection; 36 cases and 69 individuals detected through inspection and examination; and 14 cases and 19 individuals related to corruption detected through complaint and denunciation handling).
