J&T Express Vietnam’s new hub is strategically located in Hanoi for efficient cargo handling and serves as the largest sorting and distribution center in Northern Vietnam.
Covering an area of 38,000 square meters, with 23 inbound gates and 150 outbound gates, the hub is equipped with dozens of conveyor belts and modern cargo handling areas, including DWS systems for automatic barcode scanning, weight checking, and dimension measurement, ensuring optimal service for large volumes of cargo and timely responses to customer needs, even during peak periods.
The J&T Express Vietnam hub is equipped with e-logistic standard specialized equipment, including an automatic sorting matrix system, reducing the time from inbound to outbound cargo to 3-5 minutes per parcel through DWS; the crossbelt system efficiently sorts small parcels with up to 99% accuracy, and the loading machine in the crossbelt area achieves a loading efficiency of up to 99,000 parcels per hour.
These new technologies not only accelerate cargo handling but also minimize errors, enhancing accuracy in delivery. This enables the company to meet current demands and be well-prepared for the future boom in Vietnam’s e-commerce market.
“One of the most distinctive features of the Hanoi hub is that it was entirely designed, constructed, and operated by J&T Global Group, ensuring optimal efficiency and performance,” shared Mr. Phan Binh, Brand Director of J&T Express.
Additionally, recognizing the increase in plastic waste generated by e-commerce activities, J&T Express Vietnam has implemented various environmental protection programs, such as using eco-bags for cargo delivery.
According to the company, J&T Express utilizes an average of 42,192 eco-bags daily nationwide, with the newly inaugurated Hanoi hub alone using 7,226 eco-bags each day. These eco-bags are reusable, helping to reduce plastic waste and indirectly lowering CO2 emissions.
According to Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade, the e-commerce market is expected to surpass the 25 billion USD mark by 2025.
Mr. Tran Minh Tuan, Director of the Digital Economy and Society Department, stated, “E-commerce has been, is, and will continue to be the main driver of digital economic development. The goal of having e-commerce revenue account for 10% of total retail revenue by 2025 is entirely feasible, given the current positive growth rate.”
