The Kia Carnival 2025 in Vietnam is about to get a hybrid version. The official Kia Vietnam website has teased information about this new Carnival model. The full name of this version is the Carnival 1.6 Turbo HEV Signature 7S.

The new version of the Kia Carnival has been added to the product catalog but the official price has not been announced.

The price has not been officially announced, but dealers are taking orders with an expected price of 1.849 billion VND. The expected price of this hybrid version is up to 260 million VND higher than the diesel version.

What’s New in the Carnival Hybrid

At this point, some of the new features of the Kia Carnival hybrid have been revealed on the official website.

The 2025 Carnival in Vietnam drops the gasoline engine and replaces it with a new hybrid powertrain.

The most notable new feature of the Carnival hybrid is its combination of a 1.6L turbocharged gasoline engine with an electric motor, producing a combined output of 242 horsepower and 367 Nm of torque. The vehicle’s battery has a capacity of 1.49 kWh. This is a self-charging hybrid model. It also features regenerative braking.

The Carnival hybrid also offers additional technological features, such as E-VMC motion control, E-Handling body stability, and E-EHA collision avoidance support. E-Handling adjusts the acceleration and deceleration of the electric motor to improve cornering performance. E-EHA, an evolution of E-Handling, adjusts the electric motor when an imminent collision is detected.

Another new feature in the hybrid version of the Carnival is the automatic opening and closing of the air vent below the front bumper.

What Will the Signature Version Offer?

In addition to the aforementioned technological features, the Carnival hybrid shares similar equipment with the diesel Signature 7-seater. The exterior of the hybrid version is almost identical to the diesel model, with the addition of the HEV logo.

The exterior of the Carnival Signature features a full LED lighting system and 19-inch alloy wheels with 3D graphics.

Inside, notable convenience features include a pair of large dual screens placed on a curved glass panel, a 12-speaker Bose sound system, heated and cooled seats, and a second-row captain’s chair with electric adjustment.

Technology is a key differentiator between the Signature and lower-tier versions. The Signature model boasts a comprehensive suite of ADAS features, a 360-degree camera, tire pressure sensors, and eight airbags.

With an expected price of nearly 1.85 billion VND, the Kia Carnival hybrid is priced similarly to the Volkswagen Viloran. In terms of technological features, the Carnival offers a slight edge over its German rival despite its lower price point. This hybrid version of the Carnival will further intensify the competition in the large MPV/minivan segment.
