According to the Market Management Department of Thanh Hoa province, Team 14 of the Market Management Department recently coordinated with the police of Tho Xuan district to conduct a surprise inspection of Nguyen Dinh Nam’s business household in Phu Xuan, Tho Xuan district. This inspection was prompted by suspicions of the household engaging in the trade of counterfeit fertilizers bearing protected trademarks in Vietnam. During the inspection, the authorities discovered and confiscated a batch of goods totaling 66 tons of fertilizers with suspected violations, bearing the trademarks of “Rong My” and “Viet-Xo.”

According to the initial records of Team 14, the entire batch of goods belonged to the Red Star Technology Company, located in Van Thang, Nong Cong district, Thanh Hoa province, and was consigned at Mr. Nam’s business household.

Subsequently, Team 14 of the Market Management Department and the police of Tho Xuan district temporarily confiscated the entire batch of goods for further verification and investigation into the violations in accordance with legal regulations.

Upon verifying the origins of these goods, the police of Thuong Xuan district obtained sufficient grounds and evidence to prove that they were counterfeit. They organized a task force to apprehend two individuals, Nguyen Van Son (born 1993, residing in Te Nong, Nong Cong) and Vi Van Sang (born 2000, residing in Xuan Cao, Thuong Xuan), while they were transporting nearly 100 kg of counterfeit detergents and seasoning powders of the aforementioned brands for consumption.

The police conducted an emergency search of the residences of the aforementioned individuals and confiscated nearly 800 kg of raw materials for producing counterfeit detergents and seasoning powders, along with various tools, packaging, and labels.

At the police station, the individuals confessed that since February 2024, Nguyen Van Son had been researching methods to produce counterfeit seasoning powders and detergents of popular market brands for profit. He used social media to purchase counterfeit packaging of Knorr seasoning powder, Omo and Aba detergents, as well as low-quality and unbranded seasoning powders and detergents, heat-pressing machines, and scales for his illicit activities.

After producing the counterfeit products, Son hired Vi Van Sang to transport and sell them in bulk to grocery stores in Thuong Xuan, Nhu Thanh, and Lang Chanh districts. The police of Thuong Xuan are currently investigating and expanding the scope of this case.
