Range Rover Evoque: A Luxurious and Eco-Friendly SUV

On January 13th, JLR Vietnam officially introduced the new Range Rover Evoque to the domestic market with four mild-hybrid versions: the S 1.5 P160 MHEV priced at VND 2.939 billion, the Dynamic SE 1.5 P160 MHEV at VND 3.199 billion, the S 2.0 P200 MHEV at VND 3.179 billion, and the Dynamic SE 2.0 P200 MHEV at VND 3.599 billion.

As the name suggests, all four versions of the Range Rover Evoque in Vietnam feature mild-hybrid technology. However, in these vehicles, the electric motor plays a supportive role, providing additional horsepower and torque during acceleration, recovering kinetic energy when going downhill, and enabling smoother starts.

Jaecoo J7 PHEV: Powerful and Efficient

The Jaecoo J7 PHEV, a higher-end version of this line, was launched in Vietnam on January 15th. It is priced at VND 999 million and is currently on sale for VND 919 million.

The Jaecoo J7 PHEV is equipped with a turbocharged 1.5L gasoline engine and an electric motor, delivering an impressive 342 horsepower and 542 Nm of torque. It can travel up to 90 km (WLTP standard) on electric power alone, thanks to its 18.3 kWh battery. With a fuel consumption rate of 0.84L/100km, the Jaecoo J7 PHEV can offer a remarkable range of over 1,300 km on a single tank of fuel and a full charge.

Kia Carnival HEV: Hybrid Efficiency Meets Spacious Comfort

Kia introduced the hybrid version of its popular MPV, the Kia Carnival HEV, on January 10th, priced at VND 1.849 billion.

The most notable feature of the Carnival hybrid is its engine, which combines a 1.6L turbocharged gasoline engine with an electric motor, resulting in a combined output of 242 horsepower and 367 Nm of torque. The vehicle is equipped with a 1.49 kWh battery and features regenerative braking technology.

According to the manufacturer, the Kia Carnival HEV has an impressive fuel consumption rate of 4.95 liters per 100 km for combined city and highway driving. This efficiency is remarkable for a vehicle of its size.

Dongfeng Huge and Mage: Hybrid SUVs from China

The Chinese brand Dongfeng recently introduced four new models in Vietnam, including two hybrid SUVs: the Huge and the Mage.

The Huge is powered by a 1.5L hybrid engine that delivers 241 horsepower and 540 Nm of torque. It is front-wheel drive. The Mage, on the other hand, offers two engine options, including a hybrid version with a 1.5L gasoline engine that produces 288 horsepower and 565 mm of torque. It is also front-wheel drive.
