A vendor at Tan Mai Street in Hoang Mai, Hanoi, displays golden-coated Quat Tu Lien and Nhat Chi Mai plants, attracting many curious onlookers. According to Anh Hung, a seller of these gildedquat trees, the selected plants are of the finest quality, boasting a graceful shape and abundant, evenly sized fruits.

Anh Ho Chi Nam, the artisan responsible for gold-coating the quats, shared that each gildedquat tree takes about half a day to complete. While the process is not overly complicated, it demands careful attention to detail.

Anh Nam explained that creating a gildedquat tree requires 1,500 to 2,000 leaves of 24-karat industrial gold. The price of each tree ranges from 2 to 4.5 million VND, depending on its size.

According to Anh Nam, during the Lunar New Year season, people often buyquat trees, symbolizing prosperity and good fortune. Now, these trees are also exchanged as meaningful gifts, and the addition of gold enhances their luxurious and precious appeal.

Anh Hung, a vendor at Tan Mai market, shared that the golden-coatedquat trees are a unique offering, introduced just this year. The 24-karat gold leaves used for decoration are the same as those used in the furniture and home decor industries, known for their durability and shine, indistinguishable from genuine gold.

Locals admire the luxurious Quat Tu Lien trees coated in gold, priced at millions of dong.
