According to Project Management Unit 3 – Vietnam Road Administration, the asphalt concrete pavement work on Ho Bridge (Km12+963, National Highway 38) has now been completed.
To facilitate the people during the upcoming Lunar New Year, from 23:00 on January 25, 2025, all vehicles were allowed to resume traffic on Ho Bridge until further notice.
However, due to the pending road marking and signage system installation, drivers are requested to pay attention, slow down, and exercise caution when crossing the bridge to ensure road safety.
After more than 20 years of operation, Ho Bridge connecting National Highway 38 across Tan Chi Commune (Tien Du) and Ho Ward (Thuan Thanh Town) has facilitated trade and travel for people on both sides of Duong River, significantly contributing to the socio-economic development of Bac Ninh Province.
Despite regular inspections, repairs, and maintenance by relevant agencies and units, the bridge’s surface had deteriorated severely.
The Ho Bridge surface had developed numerous potholes, and many sections had lost their asphalt layer, posing accident risks and dangers to commuters.
The Vietnam Road Administration, under the Ministry of Transport, adjusted its tasks and supplemented the national highway maintenance plan for 2024 with funds from the road economic sector. The project for repairing six bridges on National Highway 38, connecting National Highways 1 and 5 across Bac Ninh and Hai Duong Provinces (including Ho Bridge repair) was allocated a budget of VND 35 billion.
As a result, the Vietnam Road Administration commenced the Ho Bridge repair in late November 2024, and the work has now been completed.
