Hundreds of workers gathered at Minh Hoang 2 Company’s headquarters to claim their rights
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Dinh shared that he and about 250 colleagues decided to stop working from March 12 to protest the prolonged social insurance debt. According to Mr. Dinh, by the time they stopped working, Minh Hoang 2 Company had owed him a total of 32 months of social insurance.
“What makes the workers extremely indignant is that the company has been deducting money from their salaries for social insurance purposes but has failed to fulfill this obligation for almost three years,” Mr. Dinh said.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Tan, a worker who arrived early, tearfully recounted how she was unable to claim sick leave benefits after three years of medical treatment because the company owed social insurance. Similarly, Ms. Nguyen Thi My Minh also did not receive post-natal care benefits for the same reason.

It is known that currently, the company has only about 7 workers
According to the workers, before the Lunar New Year 2025, hundreds of Minh Hoang 2 Company’s workers also went on a collective strike to protest the company’s failure to address the issue of Tet bonuses and social insurance debt. The company then promised to resolve the Tet bonus issue by March 31, but this has not been fulfilled.
Mr. Nguyen Ky Vinh, Chairman of the Trade Union of Economic Zones and Industrial Parks of Quang Nam province, said that in the afternoon of April 8, the Trade Union and specialized agencies of the Department of Home Affairs continued to work with the workers.
According to Mr. Vinh, Minh Hoang 2 Company has about 250 workers, and currently, only about 7 workers are still working.
By the afternoon of April 8, more than 160 workers had submitted petitions to the authorities to claim their rights. These workers shared that they used to work for Minh Hoang 2 Company but have now left their jobs.
In their petitions, the workers demanded three things. First, they requested the company to pay the 13th-month salary bonus as promised (promised to pay 50% by March 31 but has not done so yet).
Second, they demanded a termination decision as all the workers resigned following the legal regulations on unilateral termination of the contract but have not received any official decision. The workers’ feedback indicated that the company only paid unemployment insurance for January and not for February, hence the delay in issuing the termination decision, as the workers should be entitled to unemployment benefits upon leaving their jobs.
Third, the workers demanded that the company settle the social insurance debt with the authorities, with some cases involving 33 months of unpaid social insurance.
Mr. Nguyen Qui Quy, Deputy Director of Quang Nam Province’s Department of Home Affairs, said that the Inspectorate of the Department, the Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs Office are coordinating with the Provincial Labor Federation to gather information and contact the company’s leaders to find a solution…
